Something else...

The box contained an envelope. No jewelry. No trinkets. Just an envelope. Lauren groaned and was about to close the box again when she read the envelope, causing her eyes to go wide as she paled.

The envelope was addressed to the house she was currently in…but to a Stephanie Mankowitz.

She was in a stranger’s house…naked except for a diaper…and it wasn’t even the right house!

Inside the car, Cassandra was playing a game on her phone while Rachel was sitting in the driver’s seat, snoring loudly. Suddenly, they both jumped in surprise as Rachel’s phone began to ring.

“Hello?” Rachel asked, answering the phone.

“Rachel, it’s Lauren!” Lauren’s voice said on the other end, sounding not too pleased.

“Lauren?” Rachel asked. “Finally! It took longer than I expected. Did you get the emerald yet?”

“No, I didn’t get the emerald, because there ISN’T any emerald!” Lauren growled in a harsh whisper. “You idiots put me on the doorstep of the WRONG HOUSE!”

“That’s impossible!” Cassandra said. “I carefully made sure that the address in the phone book matched the address in the – “Cassandra stopped briefly as she looked at the article, “You know, looking at it again, that eight does look an awful lot like a zero.”

“Who cares?!” Lauren growled. “I’m standing in the middle of a stranger’s house, topless, and wearing a mother flipping diaper! Pull the car up and get ready to pick me up! NOW!”

“Okay, geez.” Rachel said, raising her hands in defense. “Keep your pants on.”

Muttering to herself, Lauren waddled into the living room and was just about to walk over to the door when something stopped her.
