Something beyond saves you.

It would seem they are almost ready to cook you as one of them takes your hands and pulls them roughly to the back, clasps them together, then binds them securely. Next your legs are pulled up and tied to the pole behind you. They then walk you over and place you above the fire, the heat licks against your skin and you begin to sweat immediately. If you could scream you would, but all you can do is squirm. “Sorry girl this is going to hurt.” The two bugbears then finish the deal and the two poles are rammed forward till you are impaled completely. You can't believe that this is how you are going to die, being cooked alive and eaten by bugbears. If only you had listened to the ogre, as clearly he didn't say upstream. If only you could have ignored comfort and just ran when you fucked them asleep. But no you didn't, now it would seem they are going to eat you. “Oh she smells good.” They begin turning the pole, and you feel a wash of something cool splash over your stomach, “Oh so good, more butter.” Another says, and the horrifying stupid thought that hits your pain addled brain, is that yes in fact you do smell really good. One of their horrible faces lowers to yours, “Don't you worry, I am good at this, I am sure I can keep you alive for at least an hour.”

You keep getting hotter and hotter and it is hard to think, your mind wonders, you can almost feel yourself floating out of your body when suddenly standing in front of you in a dark black cave is a beautiful dark skinned woman with pure white hair. “Accept me into your heart and I can save you. All you have to do is call out to me, channel the might of Nocturna and you will be saved.”

What choice do I have? You think to yourself as you think as hard as you can to accept her. Suddenly something flashes inside of you and you just sort of know how to channel her power, it would seem you can do it but seven times before resting and praying to her at night. There is a rush of darkness as you activate the power and your insides suddenly feel a little better, the poles even seem pushed a bit out of you as your back now hurts as your body bends. “What was that?” You hear one of the bugbears yell. “That hurt.” A second time you activate it, then a third a fourth, the poles slide farther and farther out of you, the bugbears are clearly in a panic as one of them yells, “Grontar, what is happening? Get up.” Then another yells, “It is the girl. Kill her.” A heavy blunt object slams into your side knocking you free from the spit and into the fire.

“Aaaahhhhh.!!” You can't help but scream as the fire burns your flesh, but at the same time you do notice your bindings catch fire as well. The power of the goddess or whatever she is, is the only thing that you can do still bound, not to mention you are dying in a fire, so you use it a fifth time. This knits your burns as fast as they appear and you roll out of the fire. The bugbear seems weak but charges, his heavy mace high overhead he swings it down at you as you use the ability a sixth time. This causes him to stop in his tracks, slump, then fall to the ground in front of you. You are pretty sure he is still breathing, but ****. Straining you pull your hands against the burning ropes, and finally they snap. Hands free you quickly untie your ankles. Panting you struggle and pull yourself to your feet. Looking around you can see seven of the bugbears lying on the ground around you. Clearly some of them are dead, their skin sort of blackened, the others are pale, but look alive. Still as you look around you can't see what happened to the last three, they may have run in panic, or they might just be out gathering more wood for the crackling fire. You are free again, and your wounds are mostly healed. You may have tons of time, or only minutes, you aren't sure what you should do.
