Chapter 8
by
quiboune
Appeal to her pride? Offer her a deal? Let her escape? Wait it out?
Something Bold.
An idea crosses your mind. You absorb her mana one more time, much to her anger, and put your idea to the test.
Using your roots, you step on her chest, pinning her body to the ground.
"What are you doing? Knock it off!" she protests.
Just to be sure, you bury your roots again, which makes her body get crushed against the ground. You notice that her chest begins moving harder and gasps come out of her mouth more frequently.
"You are- fuh- killing- me... I can't- ah - breath..."
Oh, so that's what she was doing. You don't breath like she does, so you didn't understand what was happening. Your plan requires her to be alive - mostly - so you give some space for her to breath properly. She seems relieved for a moment, but quickly makes a "I fucked up" face when she remembers that dying would mean respawning and being out of this situation. You reach for a rock and swing it around a few times, getting used to the weight. With everything ready, you proceed to the next part of the plan.
Using all your strength, you hit her head with the rock. She barely reacts before the hit sends her to 0 hp immediately, almost at the same time you hear another DING! as the xp hits. You don't check what you gained or what changed, even though you can notice a few differences like your bigger size and stronger arms. Instead, you go to the next step of your plan.
Using Herbal Flow and a lot of mental gymnastics, you manage to convince yourself that the Priestess is an Ally, and your skill immediately takes effect. The priestess wakes up pulling all the air she can, scared, after being brought back to life before she could even notice she was dead. You stop healing your captive and almost fall back in relief. You didn't really think this could work.
"Wh-what happened? Did I... what did you do?!" she asks angrily, but you can notice a lot of fear in her voice.
You don't answer. Instead, you check your new stats.

Ability Gained!:

Now we're talking! Finally some combat skills that you could actually use in a real fight. You're still thinking about what to do next when you feel the priestess struggle again below your roots. Without mana she's not very useful and her struggles are in vain below your firm grapple. You know now that she can be farmed , and the fact that she's a hero means that killing her will always yeld a lot of experience, even if you spam that.
Your meticulous thoughts are distracted when you look at her again. Her body isn't that of a priestess. Her breasts almost escape the thin fabrics of her robes, almost. You could make a better use of this body, a proper use.
What to do?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
