Some introductions

"Jake." Karen gets out of her wheelchair and slowly walks over to her oldest son, "Is that…really…"

She tries to grope his face, "You?"

"Get away from me!" Jake snarls as he moves away.

"Jake, what's wrong?"

"What's wrong?" Jake snarls, "You dump me here and left me to rot and you have the audacity to ask me what's wrong."

"Jake, honey. Heather….I mean Dr. Humpalot, told us to keep our distance. That I…I mean we… would be a distraction to your recovery. Oh baby, you were just a mess."

"Say you."

"She's quite right, Jake." Humpalot intercedes. "You were quite a mess. A wild animal, one might say. Your resentment towards your mother from your childhood would only throw you deeper into the state you were in now. It was imperative that you were isolated while I treated you."

"Whatever you say doc. You're the only one I trust anyways."

"Wait, what about your childhood."

"Like you don't know. Casey, the way she picked on me and you never did anything. Zoe, not telling me about her until I was on the alter with her, the way you treat dad, the way you treated me. Never giving me a chance to go out on my own, to make a name for myself. Always had to treat me like I was a fragile, that I couldn't handle myself unless it was with Casey then you always let her pick on me."

"That was sibling rivalry. She never went that rough on ya. If she did I would put a stop to it. I thought it would 'toughing' you as you said. And with the way I treated you and your father. That's how we Luvs are. The men are always the weakest, its the women jobs to protect them."

"Bullshit, it just away to keep them under your thumb."

"And for Zoe." Karen sighs, "It's complicated."

Jake gets in her face, "Try me."

"Later." Humaplot says as she walks in between her face, "But not now. Now, Jake you will help her as we agreed, correct."

"Yeah." Jake's eyes goes over to Humpalot every few seconds before going over to his mom, "Despite my feelings towards it."

"Good."

"What's going. What are you talking about?"

"Karen in this institute, in this place. One can feel isolated, alone, feel trapped. That, in time, can be lonely. Loneliness can eat you up if you let it, in which will destroy any progress that is made with treatment. So I encourage a buddy system if you may. Where a older patient looks after a newer patient, to show them the ropes, to help them with treatment."

"Who was your partner, son?"

"You're talking to her."

"Yes, your son was very difficult to handle as you first saw when he was brought here after his ordeal with the Crippler. That only I could be sufficient enough to handle him."

"I say it worked quite well."

"Yes, maybe too well. But enough of that."

Humpalot looks at Jake, "Jake, can you take your mother to her first treatment. She has a busy month ahead of her and a lot to do. You know the way."

"Yes, doctor." Jake gestures his head to the doors behind him, "Come mother, let's get this done and over with. They are showing Psycho for movie night and I don't want to miss it."

"You mean where the son kills the mother and then stuffs her?"

"That's the one. It's my favorite."

Karen looks at Humpalot, "Don't worry he's only joking."

Karen then looks at her son, "Okay son, show me the way."
