Chapter 56 by cdbaby cdbaby

What's next?

Snow white

Aaron and Luke sat in Aaron's driveway after a silent drive back, neither of them sure what to say. "I'm sorry about all of this. This certainly isn't how I wanted our night to end."

He shook his head and said reassuringly, "I thought it was very sweet to help your friend." Before he knew what he was doing Aaron had already leaned over and kissed Luke's cheek, his soft stubble lightly scratching Aaron's face. Seeing the halfhearted smile upon his face Erin couldn't help but take pity on him, "And...the night doesn't have to be over just yet. If you want to have a cup of coffee or something warm?" She offered.

"I'd like that." His small smile quickly spread further across his face and to his eyes, "I'd like that very much, thank you."

Luke wrapped his arm around Erin and escorted her into her own house.

Within a few minutes the two were sitting at the dining table swapping embarrassingly funny stories from their pasts, "So I finally get the car started again and immediately she peels off and leaves me half naked in a field, twenty miles from my house." They both laugh loudly, quickly quieting themselves so as not to wake Erin's daughter.

"That is terrible! But I still think I can top it; I was on this date with a g-boy, and we had gone out to this really expensive restaurant, I'm talking to e dining, candles, they had a guy playing the violin even."

"Sounds lovely." Luke smiled behind his coffee cup.

"You'd think so right? After we ate I….wasn't feeling well. So I... went to the bathroom and long story short I had food poisoning." Luke grimaced empathizing, "And when I came back my j-my purse was gone and so was the guy. He was nowhere to be found and as I quickly found out, he had not even paid for dinner."

"That is bad."

"It gets worse, besides my wallet and all of my money, my keys were in my purse. So I had no way home and no money for a cab even if one ran this late. So….I had to call my dad to come and get me."

"Oh I bet he was pissed."

"He was, and he almost didn't come get me."

"Why not?!"

"He had warned me about dating….boys like that."

"Oh, he was a bad boy."

"Yeah." Erin blushed. Julia was very much a bad girl, but by God she was sexy as hell and he felt lucky that she even spoke to him….but he quickly realized why she had on the drive home. "I guess every girl has a bad boy phase." For some reason she thought of Ted. "So yeah, I think I won the worst date contest."

"Did I mention it was the middle of winter and snowing?" Luke asked as he sat down his cup.

Finishing her sip of coffee she shook her head, "Fine, fine, you win."

"I certainly feel like I did tonight." Erin hid her reddening face behind her coffee cup as she drank some more, "But why don't we call it a draw?"

"Sure." She smiled and sat her cup down. Luke glanced at his watch and noticed it was now half past 2am.

"I suppose I should get out of your hair." He said as he stood up.

"Oh?" She stood with him and followed him to the door. "Are you sure?" Erin was genuinely enjoying his company, it felt like she was talking with an old friend she could share anything with. She had missed that feeling for over a year now.

"Unless, you want me to stay?"

"I….I've enjoyed your company." She felt her body warm as Erin simply did not want to lose the feeling she thought she would never have again.

"I don't have to work tomorrow." He said, leaving his hand on the doorknob. Erin took his hand in hers and pulled him gently away from the door, leading him into her bedroom. This was not at all how she planned their date to go tonight but something inside of her told her to follow this connection. As strange as it was.

The next morning Sarah woke up and bounded into her mother's room to see how her date went, "I thought I heard you come home last night, the date must not have been that-" she stopped when she saw shirtless Officer Luke disconnecting himself from Erin to look at her. "Oh….OH!" Sarah slammed the door as she realized she was still only in a small, pink pajama top and matching pajama shorts. "I'm sorry!" She yelled from behind the door and hurried to her room.

The slamming door jarred Erin awake and she bolted upright in bed wearing a red silk nightgown. "I think your daughter knows I slept over last night."

Erin groaned as she threw herself back down into bed, "It is way too early for this."

"I'm usually more alert...I guess I was a little too comfortable where I was." Erin looked up at Luke and smiled as she gently stroked his face.

"So was I." They leaned closer to share a kiss when Erin suddenly pulled back and covered her mouth. "Morning breath!' Luke smiled and kissed her forehead. Erin kissed his cheek and quickly rolled out of bed to start brushing her teeth.

Later Luke and Erin were in the kitchen making a very awkward breakfast when Sarah came in fully dressed and showered. "Mornin' sweetheart." Erin smiled and flipped a pancake onto a plate.

"Good morning." Luke smiled, setting the plate in front of her on the counter after adding some bacon to the plate.

"Hi." Sarah took a slow bite of the bacon and watched the pair try extra hard to appear normal and nonchalant. Standing, Sarah went to the fridge when she was quickly stopped by Erin.

"What do you need sweetie, I'll get it for you."

"I can get my own juice, mom."

"Juice? We have apple juice, orange juice, I think we still have grape ju-"

"Mom!" Sarah interrupted, "I can get my own juice. I'm a big girl."

Erin frowned, staring at the floor, "I know you are. I just….I wanted to make this less awkward for you."

"Yeah well, I think that particular ship has sailed." She looked to Luke who quietly excused himself to the shower, not wanting to interrupt the mother daughter moment.

"I know, I'm sorry."

"No need to apologize, Mom. We all have had sex."

"You have?!"

"Mom…." She gave Erinsa 'get real' look as she took out her orange juice. "I'm going to college."

"You know just because you go to college doesn't necessarily mean you've had-had...done that."

"You really need to get over your hangups about sex, Mom." Erin ran her fingers through her hair as Sarah sat back at her plate. Despite always enjoying sex Aaron could never really bring himself to discuss the topic too much. Especially with his daughter. "So," Sarah started, changing the subject slightly, "is he a good guy?"

Erin couldn't help but smile as she leaned over and stole a piece of bacon "He is, he really is." Erin couldn't help but remember last night and even taking Luke's friend home was something she thought of positively in the morning light.

"Think there'll be a second date?" Erin's face told the struggle, she wanted to spend more time with him…. possibly romantically, but it was hard for him to not only not feel like he was replacing his wife but what that might mean for his sexuality.

"... There's one problem with that. We didn't have sex last night. We just kinda stayed up all night until we fell asleep."

"Sounds nice. What's the problem?"

"He's kind of... traditional."

"In what way?"

"Well... most guys are fine with...uh, the way I, we have been doing things but he doesn't like….that."

"What are you saying, Mom?" Sarah knew the variety of options men enjoyed ranging from the mundane to the downright bizarre in her opinion.

"Simply put...he wants our first time to be…. missionary."

"What did you tell him?"

"...I told him I was starting my period." Sarah started cackling and nearly choked on a piece of bacon.

"Besides that, what's the problem?"

"What do you mean, what's the problem? I lack a key ingredient for that."

"Oh that? That can be fixed."

"I'm not having surgery just so I can have sex." Erin dropped her head in her hands. She was lamenting over the fact the man she brought home didn't want to have anal sex! When did his life become a bizarre teledrama?

"Not surgery, just things you can buy for sex. Tell you what you let me handle it and you just distract him in the meantime."

The sounds from the shower ended.

"How?" Erin asked frantically.

"Come on, Mom." Sarah rolled her eyes and picked up her plate and walked out of the kitchen, "Mornin', officer Luke."

"Morning, again." He said as he walked into the kitchen now freshly washed and brushed, "Good morning again to you too." He kissed Erin softly in a way that made Erin melt into him.

While the couple were busy having breakfast, Sarah was in her room searching the internet for the solution to her mom's little problem. After several hours of searching online forums dedicated to transgender/transvestite women she finally found the perfect solution and having memorized the her dad's credit card numbers a few years ago she quickly made the purchase and put a rush order on the delivery. Quite a hefty chunk of change in the end but it was going to help her mom stay on Luke's good side. Or under it, as the case may be.
