Slow changes

"Well, Professor," you begin. "I was thinking about some of the things we read this semester, and I see a theme among the women protagonists."

"Yes, what's that?"

"Many seem unhappy with their lots in lives. I mean so many of the women are unhappy with not being submissive, and want more in life."

"Well, yes, that's a common theme. I'm glad you picked up on it."

"Would you rather be happy or miserable?"

"Why happy, of course," she says with a smile.

"Would you rather be submissive to men but happy or want to be dominant and be unhappy?"

"Well, of course I'd rather be happy," she says. "I guess of course being happy is better than being miserable."

This causes you to smile.

"So would you rather be happy as my submissive lover or unhappy as my submissive lover?"

"Um, that's not really...um...appropriate," she says, as she tugs a bit at her collar. She then swallows hard, "but I'd rather be happy about it."

Your smile grows.
