Sleep

Ignoring the strange bird noises, you roll over in your bed, writing it off as a dumb goose or whatever as you drift to sleep.

3 hours later

10 am

You wake up to the sun shining in your face.

Deciding you had slept long enough, you get out of bed and get ready.

When you have showered , brushed your teeth and eaten breakfast you take out your to do list and plan out what to do first.

The list is long and tedious, filled with tasks you would rather hire someone to do. You pick out the most fun "chore", surveying the property. When you bought the cabin you also got a large part of the woods surrounding it but you had never properly explored it. That was going to change you thought to yourself as you put on your hiking boots.

As you step out of the cabin and onto its porch you suddenly spot a pile of clothes and as you get closer you see that it is what your wife was wearing when she woke you up, you also find huge puddles of some semi solid liquid splattered all over the deck. You get worried as you spot your wifes car still in the driveway, thinking rationally you tell yourself "maybe she called in sick"

You search the outhouse, near the lake and in the shed but you find no trace of her your heart beats faster and faster as you get more and more worried. You try your hardest to remain calm and think of were she could have gone and you reason that she probably just went for a walk on the nature trail the previous owners had carved through the thick forrest.

You start jogging the trail hoping to see any evidence at all of your beloved wife, when you spot a red heel lying by the bushes slightly of the trail, your heart beats even faster as your mind is dominated by thoughts of your wife being mauled to **** by a bear and other worst case scenarios.

Determined to find your wife you step through the thick bush and follow the direction which the shoe deviated from, you walk for a solid mile riddled with doubt and as you are just about to turn back to the trail to search for more clues as to what happened, you spot a large opening in the ground and next to it lays a leopard print thong.
