Chapter 27 by Chip_Arranger Chip_Arranger

Maybe this hotel isn't so bad for everyone

Sisters Are Different Flowers From The Same Garden

"What the hell am I gonna do?" Lauren asked as she went in circles, both in terms of walking and brain activity. "I don't know the first thing about him! My date is tonight!"

"He'll like anything!" Charlotte offered, lazing on the bed as she woke up slowly. "We didn't even do much with the date itself, we mainly just talked!"

"Well that's just great, talking," Lauren scoffed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "My greatest quality."

"Just look on the bright side!" Charlotte tried to cheer her up. "You don't have to go all out with anything, really. He'd even like going out for coffee or something!"

"Coffee, hm?" Lauren mused. "That'd be pretty easy to do, then I can just spend more time by myself."

Charlotte's face contorted a little bit at Lauren's simple response and trailing off, but she had come to expect that this sort of interaction was common with her. In fact, getting three whole distinct statements from her was seemingly extremely rare, so she was content with that after she thought about it for a second.

"I remember running into something that looked like a coffee shop in town the other day when I was out," Charlotte tried to get more out of her. Something, anything.

"Sounds interesting," Lauren simply responded. Charlotte felt defeated, but then heard Lauren continue, saying "I haven't had a cup of coffee in a long time."

That was quite a large chunk of Lauren's history or background that Charlotte had gotten from her. "Yes! I'm finally getting somewhere!" Charlotte thought to herself. "I have no idea what that might mean though, maybe Kathryn would be able to figure it out."

"Well, thanks for your insight," Lauren said. "I'll be sure to keep it in mind."

It was more filler conversation, sure, but it felt so liberating for Charlotte to hear that.

"Do I have to get up?" Abby complained.

"I mean, I'm not gonna **** you, but I bet Kendra would come drag you out eventually," Turner replied.

"Oh, but are you gonna **** me?" she teased. "Or do you like having me this close to you?"

"I-I mean, I wouldn't-but-" he stammered.

"Relax, I'm just messing with you," she waved her hand dismissively. "You are really warm though, I do wish I could stay here forever."

"Abby..." Turner said, his voice carrying a tone of caution.

"Sorry, sorry, I know, I know," she quickly amended.

"Alright, I'm gonna go get dressed in the other room," he changed the subject. "If you're gone before I come out, then I guess I'll see you in a couple days?"

"I'll probably be walking around town now and then, I definitely didn't get enough clothes the first time I went out, so maybe I'll see you there," Abby answered.

With that, Turner went into the luxurious bathroom adjoined to the bedroom and changed out of his basketball shorts and undershirt that he had been wearing. While it likely didn't matter what he wore, it wasn't like he wanted to spend all day looking like a slob, especially with Lauren's date tonight. Judging by her current demeanor, it likely wouldn't be anything extravagant, but he didn't want to make a bad impression by looking like an unruly teenager on summer break.

At the beginning of the week, he had thought that Emma's was going to be the second-best date night, behind Becca's, but he had honestly had a lot of fun with every one that he had gone on so far. Emma's date was new and exciting, Charlotte's had been relaxing (the inverse of what he had expected from someone like her), and Abby's was thrilling and lively.

He was really missing spending time with Becca, though. Going from spending basically every evening and night with her like a married couple to not seeing her, especially after hearing that she's been high-strung and sensitive, was really difficult. He wanted nothing more than to comfort her in these tough times, but apparently her last confrontation with Kendra hadn't exactly gone over well. Plus, that thing that Kendra had said about playing fair was still replaying in his mind.

"Maybe I could just ask Abby to tell Becca to meet me in the courtyard, even if it was just for a few minutes," he thought.

"Hey, Abby, do you think you could-" Turner began as he absentmindedly walked out of the bathroom, before he looked up, eyes going wide.

Standing sideways to him in the room was Abby's new naked figure, picking up her shirt off of the ground. She turned to him just as he realized what was going on, and instinctively covered her tits and pussy, turning red and shielding herself.

"Oh my-fuck, I'm so sorry!" Turner yelled, embarrassed as he turned around and went back into the other room.

Showed Turner Naked Body: +7 VP!

Abby was mortified. She should've known better than to get changed in a place like this. Of course, with her luck, he would walk in on her getting dressed, and of course it would happen when she was fully nude.

She saw her name rocket past Paige into first place for victory points, and then realized that not only did Turner see her naked, but she would also have to explain to Becca how she managed to get eleven points in one night without making it sound like anything happened.

"Well, nothing DID happen," she reasoned in her head. "At least, nothing that wasn't an accident, at least aside from me cuddling with him, but it should be fine, right? I don't have to tell her about that part, right?"

She didn't finish her train of thought before she hastily put her outfit back on, gathered her belongings, and booked it back to the courtyard, hazarding a single "Bye!" to let Turner know she was leaving.

"Ha, you owe me five dollars!" Sara shouted to Kathryn as she saw Abby's name high above everyone else's on the leaderboard.

"I never said she wouldn't do anything, I just said I wouldn't count on it," Kathryn pointed out.

"Twelve points, that must mean she did a lot more than Emma," Sara gave a low whistle.

"Not necessarily, Abby would get more points than Emma for doing the same thing, at least according to Kendra," Kathryn remembered the opening ceremony.

"Yeah, but double what Emma got?" Sara was incredulous.

"Probably not, but it doesn't necessarily mean that she did a lot more than Emma," Kathryn defended. "Plus, it could've been by accident, Emma's was on purpose."

"Hey," Emma said, a bit gloomily, as she walked to get breakfast.

"Hey, what's wrong with you?" Sara asked, concerned.

"Yeah, you sound off today," Kathryn agreed.

"I had a chat with Becca last night," Emma started, pausing before continuing. "She was furious. It sounded like she wanted nothing more to do with me, ever, and I'm scared that I lost a really good friend."

"Wait, what did she say?" Kathryn wondered out loud.

"Well, here's basically what happened..." Emma started her story. "I was walking along the path, it was pretty dark out, and I heard Becca's door slam. Probably another argument with Paige again, the two of them are like oil and water. Anyways, that should've been my first clue that now was probably a bad time, but she's been pissed for a while now, so I figured that it was as good a time as any right now. The alternative would've been to wait until probably her date with Turner, when she would finally be content, and I don't know if I could've kept it for that long, especially since Paige knows."

"Wait, Paige knows?" Kathryn interrupted.

"Yeah, unfortunately," Emma looked down and shuffled her feet around nervously.

"How on Earth does she know?" Sara's voice was calmer than Kathryn's, trying to console Emma instead of find out information.

"Uh...I was gonna talk to Becca right around the time Charlotte got back, before Becca's outburst, but Paige answered the door instead and kinda held me hostage until I told her what was going on," Emma explained.

"Jesus, she's like the worst person you could've told any drama to," Kathryn reasoned. "Do you realize how much **** she has right now?"

"I know, that's why I was trying to get to Becca first!" Emma responded. "So that I could tell her, and it wouldn't come from someone like Paige! Anyways, I called out her name and she looked back at me the same way I looked at this absolutely foul chicken that they had at the college dining hall one day. It was like undercooked and slimy...disgusted, you get the picture. So, already not off to a great start. I went on anyways, told her about exactly what I told you, Sara."

"Which was..." Kathryn quasi-asked, missing crucial information.

"Basically, Kendra's transformation caused me to get stuck in a sticky situation with temperature, so I had to cuddle with him, and then gave him a small kiss in the morning because I decided 'Fuck it, I already did something, what's the harm in getting a few more points?'" Emma filled in.

"So that was the scandal that netted you not even enough points to get to first place?" Kathryn incredulously asked. "Hell, if I was you, I'd've just gone all the way and at least scrounged up enough points to get ahead of everyone if I was already in for a penny. Kinda like what Abby here did."

"Wait, what did Abby do?" Emma got sidetracked by Kathryn's offhanded remark.

"Oh, she apparently got eleven points last night, so she's in first now," Sara explained.

"Eleven?" Emma exhaled loudly. "She's gonna have some explainin' to do with Becca. I'd say it's even worse since Becca's her sister."

"Anyways, get back to the story!" Sara reminded.

"Oh!" Emma exclaimed. "Right, so I told her that, tried to let her down easily by making it seem like it was a big misunderstanding. She backed up, muttered something about how Paige was wrong, and then the yelling started. She said 'What in the everliving fuck, Emma? I trusted you, I thought I knew that you would never do anything with my boyfriend, and on the first night you're alone with him, you kiss him? I can forgive the whole situation in bed, that was beyond your control, but the kiss was totally your idea.' So, yeah, now Becca's pissed at me, Paige's trying to manipulate me, Mandy hates me, Turner's awkward around me, and yeah! My experience the last few days has been just peachy!"

Sara leaned over to fix Kathryn's lower jaw, which was hanging open in shock. Before either of them could respond, though, Abby interrupted them by speed walking out of the hotel.

"Hey Abby..." Sara began, but she just walked right past the group.

"Sorry!" Abby apologized, moving away. "I'll chat later, gotta do some damage control first!"

"I bet she's going to Becca's bungalow," Kathryn said. "Speaking of which, she's usually an early riser, wonder what's up with her not being out right now?"

"She's probably stewing in rage after last night," Emma looked downwards in shame again.

"Aw, don't beat yourself up over this," Sara kneeled down and put her hand on Emma's cheek. "Everyone's gonna do something at some point to anger Becca on this show. Either that, or they'll get eliminated, it's just the nature of the game. Heck, I'm gonna have to do something at some point, Kathryn's gonna have to do something, even Paige is gonna have to do something. Heck, I can't wait to see that, Becca's gonna get more violent than that volcano over there."

"It's just...I had to be the first one," Emma said, tears welling up. "I had to be the one to take the brunt of it all. Why not Kathryn? She's level-headed, she'd be able to take the hit. Why not Paige? She's already facing Becca's wrath, would it really be any different?"

"Life sucks sometimes," Sara answered. "You just gotta roll with the punches. Look at it this way, you're a star right now. The people love you, they're probably going to continue loving you after this, but not if you turn into an emotional wreck. Becca will calm down, she's gonna have to if she wants to keep her head in the game. Don't let that bother you as much as it is."

"Thanks, Sara," Emma wrapped her arms around Sara in a tight hug after a few seconds.

"Wow, way to make me feel like the third wheel," Kathryn joked, causing Emma to laugh a little.

"You had one job, Abs! One job!" Abby was already imagining what Becca was gonna say to her as soon as she divulged what happened. The walk to the beach house was stressful to say the least.

"If I didn't tell her, she'd figure out that I did something, and me not telling her would make it even more suspicious," she reasoned. "Again, I didn't do anything wrong! It's not my fault that Turner is a bit absentminded sometimes!"

She rapped her knuckles on Becca's door and stood back, waiting for it to swing wide open and Becca to welcome her inside. However, there was no response.

"It's like 9 in the morning, she's usually up hours earlier," she thought to herself, confused, before knocking again.

No response.

Abby put her ear up to the door to see if she could hear anything, maybe to give her some indication if there was anything going on. The houses didn't have front windows, so she couldn't look inside to see what was happening.

After a few seconds of silence, she could make out the sounds of someone who sounded like Paige talking, but even when she stopped talking, Becca couldn't be heard. Had she left earlier? Was she in there, giving Paige the silent treatment? What was going on?

"Maybe I should check the other houses, she might be there," Abby thought.

She knocked on the door a third time, yielding about the same result. She was about to turn around and walk to Emma and Mandy's until she heard scrambling from inside the house, and a disheveled Paige opened the door.

"Hey, uh...you didn't hear anything in there, right?" Paige frantically asked. Her face was red, her hair was messier than a frat house on the average Friday night, and her shirt was on backwards. Her getup didn't exactly scream "Ready for visitors" or anything like that.

"Uh...no?" Abby half-lied. She had heard something, but she couldn't make out what was being said. "Is Becca there?"

"No, she was gone when I woke up," Paige shook her head. "Don't know what was so important to leave at the crack of dawn, but apparently she's pissed about Emma or something now."

"Damn," Abby said to herself. "Hey, can you tell her I was here if she comes back?"

"Sure, but you gotta tell me how you got all those points," Paige offered.

"What?" Abby exclaimed, surprised. "How did you know about that?"

"You're looking for Becca, it's just like Emma, you want to get to her before she sees the scoreboard and assumes the worst, I'm not dumb," Paige explained.

"Wow, that's actually sorta smart," Abby said under her breath.

"Hey, I heard that," Paige's eyes narrowed.

"Oh, sorry, uh...how about no?" Abby declined her offer. "I think I'm more than capable of finding her myself if you're gonna charge me just to let her know I was here."

"Whatever you say," Paige went back into the house and shut the door behind her.

"That was weird," Abby thought as she walked further down the path. "Is it weird to think that Paige has Becca like tied down in the room or something? That was the most normal conversation I've ever had with Paige. Almost too normal. Well, no, Paige wouldn't do that. She's a bad person, but not a criminal. I bet she's just **** for drama or something."

Paige looked out the peephole of the front door to ensure that Abby had gone far away before going back onto the bed.

"Shit, that was a close one," she said quietly. "I'm glad she couldn't hear what I was doing from the doorstep. I mean, I stopped after I heard the first knock, but after the third one, I was thinking it was important, but it was just Abby. Phew, glad I got rid of her. Now..."

She opened up the lockbox that she kept in her dresser, hidden away underneath piles of clothes so that Becca couldn't find it, although she assumed Becca would go through her stuff on her night away. It's just the type of person she is, constantly paranoid. However, while she still had the chance, she pulled out a high school picture she had of Turner.

It, along with the rest of the lockbox, was hidden in her dresser back at home, it seems like the people in charge of abduction around here were either too stupid to realize that this wasn't clothing, too indifferent to care, or too smart to realize that it would be useful in the future.

"Back when I actually deserved him..." her brain drifted off, looking at the picture of Turner. "Now...I've made millions of mistakes. Mistakes he'll never forgive me for."

She couldn't get back in the mood, though. She had been masturbating to the thought of everything she had done wrong to Turner in the past, but when Abby showed up and interrupted her frenzy, it killed the energy, and she couldn't get back into the right headspace.

"Fucking hell," she grumbled, putting the picture back into the safe and snapping it shut. "I swear, these people are out to get me. I can't even get off anymore without someone interrupting me. Is this what you want, Kendra? Are you happy now?"

Mandy was busy losing herself in a book of sudoku puzzles when she heard a light knocking on the door.

"Now who could this be?" she thought, rolling out of bed so as to not wake Emma. "It's 7:30 in the morning."

Who she saw after swinging the door open was one of the last people she expected to see. The curly, orange haired girl was at her front door, of all places.

"What are you doing here?" Mandy whispered loudly.

"I...I had something I had to speak with you about," Becca whispered back. "I don't know if we should do it with Emma here, though, do you wanna go somewhere else? A little more private?"

"That...doesn't exactly inspire the most confidence," Mandy remarked. "Someone, much younger and more fit than myself, who I don't really get along with or even know that well, wanting to go somewhere private with me when no one else is awake here."

"I'm serious, this has to do with Emma," Becca urged.

"Fine, fine, you wanna go to the beach where we held the challenge or something?" Mandy walked out the front door. "That seems private enough."

"Sounds good to me, I just really don't want anyone else listening in on this," Becca agreed. "Especially Paige."

"Hmm, that's interesting," Mandy thought to herself as the pair descended the stairs.

What are they talking about?
