Showcase of Pride

At the Children’s Science Fair, there were dozens of tables showcasing different experiments. Lauren arrived looking prim and professional. Pink buttoned silk v-neck blouse, a light blue suit jacket and a skirt combo. Her hair was done up in a tight French braid hugging a flower bun with two long side strands that came to rest on her shoulders.

As her news crew set up and test the equipment, Lauren tested the limits of her voice while snatching the body mic out of a crewman’s hands, silently telling them that nobody is worthy of going towards her perfect body.

“Nobody near my perfect body, no no no.”

Lauren repeated this in a sing songy voice, steadily gaining speed.

The Cameraman’s hand raised.
