Officer Parkins finished playing the tape for the chief, Lacy, Alan, and the others on the case. They stood in the chief's room. He raised his grey head with a scowl.

"You believe her?"

Parkins nodded.

"Goddammit...", he sighed. "This whole thing just got more complicated...get the Nova's pod leader in here. That placement gal says they can share memories or something. If it really happened, their pod leader can confirm it. Sit tight until then, and get whatever you can out of the others. Lacy, I want Alan doing the interview on James. You take the next on his mother after. I'll interview Lee. Don't let on that we know this, don't mention it outside of my office. I don't care who you think isn't or is around."
