A look of relief flashed across the android’s face “Follow me,” her melodic voice demanded urgently “I will lead you to the core.” She turned and began to walk towards the door to the bridge. She looked back expectantly, “You won’t be disappointed.”
Suddenly another voice is heard “I am the ships main computer AI the codes you will need to activate and restore primary propulsion or long-range sensors and automatic door sensors are kept in the safe in the captain’s ready room. I will help you but you most promise to fulfill a request that I will make at a future time.”
The Lieutenant replies “We will try to fulfil your request if we can.”
“ok the safe combination is 3106 you should find all you need to restore ship operations there.” The AI replies “There are communication devices located at the console on the left of the door. I have activated the computer console monitors and granted you access to the ships library and crew logs.”
“I don’t like this at all lieutenant,” Eighteen whispered in Lieutenant’s ear. “We can’t trust this fucking thing and you fucking know it. We need to get back to the ship ASAP and get the hell out of this…”
“Stow it Eighteen.” Lieutenant shot back sharply, “I’m in charge here and you’re going to damn well do what I say. Without waiting for a reply, the young officer started giving orders. “Everyone get a communication device Eighteen and Calvo follow AISS 1 and fix the core. Twelve go to the medical facilities for a checkup. I will get the codes to restore operations.” Lieutenant had her doubts, but she was damned if she’d let them get in her way. They all grab a communication device and check that they work.
Eighteen and Calvo follow AISS 1 and Twelve follows the emergency medical android to the medical facilities and the Lieutenant enters the captain’s ready room.
