Meanwhile...
Shenanigans with the girls
"Ohh, what's this thing?"
"That's a pear."
"And what's this thing?"
"That's an orange."
"And this?"
Reta frowned, "You know what the hell that is, baka."
KuliKuli giggling, having lifted an apple up for Reta and winking back. "Well, it's good for throwing hehe. Master has lots of these! Self defense against other mons-tff!?"
"Sshhh!" Reta cupped her mouth and placed a finger on her lips. "We don't say that word out here, remember?" She nodded silently before Reta removed her hand. The two kept walking around, past the fruit cart and towards the clothing stands.
"But why though?"
"Huh?"
KuliKuli leaned in closer and whispered. "Why can't we say what we are?"
"Didn't Felix explain to you about this already? People are scared of us, that's why."
"Why?"
"Because we feed on them."
"Why?"
"Because we get hungry too."
"Why?"
Reta flinched and turned around to face her. "Because the world is fucked up like that."
"Why?"
"Because life isn't fair."
"Why?"
"Because supposedly some angels and demons had a fight and for some fucking reason girls had to pay and not the boys!"
"Why?"
"I DON'T-" She hesitated before shaking her head and taking a breather. "You ask too many questions, you're like a child you know that? Body of a woman, brain of an infant."
"Hehe why?" She spun around as KuliKuli snickered and recoiled, raising her sleeves up to guard her face. The wolf just groaned and kept walking forward.
"So how do you expect to move in with her?"
"Huh?" Felix asked, caught off guard by the question as Janette repeated herself.
"You and KuliKuli, if you two... you know, connected, then you're going to have her live with you yes? Start a family and all that."
"Ehh," He shrugged and gave a nervous laugh. "Hehehe, never thought that one through to be honest. Me as a father, I wouldn't know how to be one. Never had one."
"What, well you had to have a father I mean who raised you? Was your mother there at least?"
"Well hehe, I definitely had a man in my younger years show me how to work and work hard. Had me do most of the farm work outside of his plantation with a ton of other friends of mine. I guess I grew up in a family, just without any parents really." He smiled sheepishly and moved on, leaving Janette puzzled.
"Well, either way you mentioned once before that you're house sitting for someone else. What will you do when he comes back?"
He shrugged, staying relatively silent. "Honestly, been thinking that myself since she and I... connected. Is it weird for me to say I hope he stays gone? I like the place and well... it has been mine for several months now. Wouldn't it be crazy if he just never came back haha!"
"Yea it would, but that's not how it works Felix. You don't have a clue what comes next, do you?" He shook his head, leaning against a wooden support beam. "Did you consider saving up money?"
"I... more or less spent that already, for her. I was doing well selling fruit and milk, but when she came in I found myself needing more. You know, she gets hungry especially nowadays. So... I did, but it was worth every penny really." He swallowed, his voice had cracked slightly just then.
Janette brushed her mahogany toned hair aside from her face, a small thought creeping behind her. A glimmer, an idea, crazy in sound but a possibility to be an answer to this dilemma. Walking up to him, she held his arm and leaned her head against his chest. Once they made eye contact, she closed the gap and pressed lips with him. Her hand brushed against his messy brown hair, his hand holding her waist. Once they parted lips, he was blushing as she gave a sly smile in return.
"Why do you still blush when we kiss?"
"Because you're way too beautiful for a guy like me."
"Hehehe." Now it was her turn to blush. "Felix, I like you, and like that woman said you are handsome too. I never did show you guys where I live, maybe we should change that after we're done here?"
He opened his mouth in awe, though it was cute she couldn't tell if he was shocked or not as the shades kept his eyes hidden. "You want to do that, you're sure? What about that speech about you retaining some normalcy and privacy to your life?"
"To hell with being normal, what kind of normal couple becomes a fourway?"
"You got me there. Tonight then?" She nodded before kissing him once more.
"If you want the dress so bad, the salesman isn't ugly looking. Why not fuck him out in the back for a free dress?"
"What! Ew, gross! No way!"
"What! You didn't hesitate in seducing Fruit Girl back home, or with me when I was chained. Grew some morals all of a sudden?"
"It's not that, Felix was comfortable with Jay-Jay and he liked you."
"He did?"
"Yea hehe, you're like that naughty rebellious girl that would scare him but also excite him. But I only do that when he is fine with it, it's different without his permission. He is my mate after all."
"Yea... yea I guess. He's yours so, why bother." She scoffed and continued walking ahead, leaving KuliKuli chasing behind.
"Hey, what's wrong? Did you want to sleep with the stranger?"
"What, no! Forget about it."
Her ears dropped down underneath her hood. Reta stopped when she felt her friend hug her tightly from behind. "Why is wolfy mad with me, did I do something wrong?"
"No, nothing at all. Let go, you're being all mushy and stuff."
"Nuuuu, Wolfy needs to know I love her!"
"Kitten, people are staring."
"Let them! My friend is sad and I want to help her feel better."
"You call me a friend after I tried to take your mate from you, really?"
Reta blushed, feeling soft lips kiss her neck in response, right where her bite mark is. Her breathing stopped, her heartbeat slowed, and the world stood still with what KuliKuli had to say.
"You're like me, because we are both the M-word. But you are like Master too, you are a hoo-man inside. We know you don't love yourself like that, and we're sorry this nasty scar had to come of it. But we love you for both sides, and we wish you would be happy too."
Reta choked, no words came to her mind for a response. What is wrong with these people, so sanguine in their awful moments and optimistic all around. It was disgustingly cute, and she felt it began to rub off on her. Her lips remained sealed when KuliKuli smiled.
"Hey, maybe we find a private spot and Kitty can make you feel all better, yes?"
