Shelby Summers, Sorority Girl

Shelby Summers was 21 and had just started her senior year at college. She was tall and slender with gorgeous light brown hair which was her shining glory. She came from money and never worked a day in her life for anything. She was president of the Zeta Delta Zeta sorority. She spent a lot of time on her hair, make-up, and clothes, and was quick to give unsoliticited fashion advice to her sorority sisters. She was single, having just broken up with her boyfriend after he told her that when he received his medical degree, he was not going into private practive but instead was going to work for a charity in Guatamela.

One day while walking to the small bodega near campus, she saw a feeble old bag lady shuffling down the sidewalk ahead of her. The lady pushed a cart that was covered in a large blanket, and she was taking up the sidewalk. "Out the way, hag," said Shelby. "Some of us have important things to accomplish today."

The lady turned and looked at Shelby. "I can move aside in a moment," she said.

"Just move it," said Shelby.

"You should not tell others what to do," said the lady.

"And you should not tell me what to do. No one does."

The lady gave a weird, crooked smile. She moved her cart as far to the side as possible, and Shelby stormed by, holding her nose in an exagerated way to let the old lady know what she thought of her.

The woman muttered something under her breath then held up a gnarled stick and pointed it at Shelby, striking he with the Curse of Obedience.
