'My lady. I cannot trade my life for Sagus'. If I did, our travels together would be meaningless.'

"I see. I'll tell you what i'll do. I heard your friend say Arakarin, and I already know you're hunting him. If you both agree to bring him into the void within one month, I will allow you both to leave alive. If you fail, however, I will take you both wherever you stand. Do we have a deal?"

'Wait,' Sagus said. 'If you want him here, why not just wait for him? He'll die eventually, won't he?'

"Pitiful human. Chasing after something you understand so little about. Arakarin is a special kind of mortal. He can die, but not of disease, hunger, thirst or time. He can never die; he can only be killed. Do you understand?"

'Yes.'

"Good. That said, your group of mages COULD be his downfall. It is possible that that thread of fate will be woven into the Tapestry of Life. However, there are hundreds more threads that have him destroying you all, and rather unpleasantly at that. There is one more thread that has the end of Arakarin. If a being called Stradi faces him, Arakarin will be killed. But, so will all of Tyren."

'ALL OF TYREN!?!?' Sagus and Marianne screamed in unison.

"Yes, and don't interrupt me. Stradi will face Arakarin in one month and one minute from now. Kill Arakarin before Tyren is destroyed, and I will grant you both your lives. Do we have a deal?"

'Why do you want to stop the end of the world? Everybody will die eventually anyway. Why do you care how?'

"Because if they die too soon, the Tapestry will go unfinished. I cannot allow that. Now, for the final time, do...we...have..a deal?"
