"Oh my goodness! What have you been doing?" Her mom shouted. Lizzie looked down and caught a glimpse of her own attire. She could've asked herself the same question because it was far worse than what she imagined. The back of her denim shorts was completely caked in mud. Her white shirt was soaked and almost stained brown by dirt. "We... we were by the creek mom. I just tripped." Lizzie said. Her answer didn't appease her mom. "You expect me to believe that that was what got you so filthy?" As she was being berated, Lizzie thought about how she was so right that this vacation was a mistake.

"Take those off." her mom said sternly. "What?" Lizzie said. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "Let me wash those clothes, and you can have them back in the morning." "What am I supposed to wear in the meantime?" Lizzie asked. "Maybe you should have properly packed your clothes. Sleep in your underwear for tonight. It's not the end of the world." Lizzie looked around the campsite. Thankfully, the other campers there were not looking in their direction (for them it appeared to be just an average daughter-mother argument).
