Hunter left the train without looking back, striding down the platform towards one of the exits. The station was one of those in the downtown core of the city and unlike previous stations was underground. He stepped onto an escalator and finally looked back. The woman stood on the escalator a few steps below him, looking up at him with wide eyes, her lower lip bitten between her teeth. He stared back at her with a speculative smile and saw her give a tiny shudder before he turned his head away from her.

Reaching street level he stepped out of the station and strode a dozen yards to where an alley intersected the street. Glancing down it he saw it was deserted, part of his view blocked by some garbage dumpsters. Nodding to himself he turned to see that the woman was still following then turned down the alley, passing the dumpsters then turning and waiting for her.

She had paused at the mouth of the alley, he eyes watching him, still biting her lip, a mix of emotions chasing across her face. He gave an abrupt nod of his head, silently commanding her to come to him.
