She comes alone

"Ms. Maroney is back for you," your receptionist tells you as you get ready to buzz her in, not knowing what to expect, "and she's alone this time."

"McKayla, I have to say I'm a little surprised that you were able to get out alone," you tell her as she produces the now-signed contract she had given you, "oh, I see. It's signed, too. I'm impressed, girl."

"You should be John, I had to go through a lot to do this behind my parents' backs," she tells you as she lounges on your black leather couch in a tiny blue t-shirt and a pair of shorts, giggling slightly.

Oh great, you think to yourself, you got their daughter to sign with you, but it was against their wishes.

You'll definitely pay for that one someday soon, but you put it in the back of your head for now, as you carry on a conversation with McKayla that turns to a modeling gig she is interested in.

"I would love to not only get that done for you, but to accompany you as well," you tell her, looking over the information she has provided you about the gig, "but I don't think that will be possible if your parents are hanging around."

"Don't worry about them," she tells you, leaning in and acting as though she wanted something to happen before pulling back after you think better of it, "I'll handle them John."
