Sharcha and Marianne

Sophie put the metal back in her cloak after flicking semi-frozen pieces of Sharcha from it, almost as though she was showing off. Marianne breathed a sigh of relief, but it became a gaps or horror before it even ended.

Sagus noticed. "What's wrong? Are you alright?"

"I'm fine!" It would've been clear to a blind man she wasn't. "I...i need to take a short break! I'll be back soon!" She ran off into a nearby thicket as her meaning dawned on him. Once she was sure she was out of earshot, she whispered, if not whimpered at an entity seen only by her.

"I'm sorry, but we had **** but to defeat you. Please forgive Sophie!"

"Be quiet and listen closely. What i'm about to tell you may cost me my soul."

Marianne raised her head. "What do you mean?"

The soul to whom she spoke glared at her, but not as harshly as he had in life moments ago. "Your friend took my life, as well as that of my other half, the snake. But as much as i hate her....Arakarin is still worse. He made us into that thing lying on the ground. And i will make him pay for it."

And the soul was gone.

Marianne walked out from the thicket, visibly shaken.

"What's wrong!?"
