Set Up Shop

You move inward and begin using your weight to push some things around, including blockading one of the smaller ruined cabinets in front of the door. You can hover over it at it's current Hovering height, but no one can just climb in without you noticing if you're sleeping or occupied. The rest of the debris are gathered into a serviceable pile for resting in, angled as to be away from the door and guarded from careless intruders. It's the best you can do considering the circumstances.

Now, what's in that chest?

It takes some time to figure out how to open a latch with an eye-stalk, but it's not hard once you figure out the mechanics. One eye holds, one eye pushes, some minor discomfort later and the chest pops open to reveal...A bracelet of sorts.

It's wide enough you can slip your eye-stalk through it if you tried, and you take a moment to examine it. The menu from before flashes briefly to life, revealing you now have access to the Equipment tab of the menu, and selecting it shows you the item you've acquired.

+1 Health, +1 Mana. Wearer gains Total Darkvision. Wearer gains 5% extra EXP from Vault of Valspire areas.

You realize that even in this dark room, lit only by a single crystalline device in the ceiling above, you can now see perfectly. The chest quickly latches shut and shakes a little, evidently respawning an object inside it but you're more concerned with the bracelet. It fits well on one of your stalks and the benefits it provides are not to be ignored. The stat boosts are frankly just there to pad the item out, but the Darkvision and the extra experience? Those will come in handy.
