JIYUU's executives knew that episodic shows attract more subscribers than films. Their Japanese series were some of their most celebrated productions. For their world expansion of 2020, however, they needed a show that attracted the attention of audiences all over the world.

Their first international series was "Ka-ren the Barbarian", based on a popular manga by CLAMP (that was born as a parody of Conan the Barbarian and Red Sonja, but now had its own dedicated fandom).

The series would immediately become a cult fan favorite all over the world, paving the way for other episodic productions on JIYUU.
