Chapter 5 by Theowrites
What prey have you schemed to fight?
Seize the Throne
As you gaze among the various artifacts, you notice the conspicuous gap in the circular chambers design. There is no golden artifact. No statue of what could be. No item of what should be. There is simply a throne. A single, modest throne, of stone. Undecorated. Unglittering. But yet, it appeals to you. To claim it for Thernion, the demon lord who had given you nothing?
No. To claim it for yourself! For too long, you'd been subservient. For too long, you'd let this world crush you, maim you, burn you. You'd sit upon this throne, and you'd damn well show them all!
As you strode to it, an sat down, you heard a potent voice. The room seemed to rumble as it spoke. “Very well,” the rumbling said. “Your new power is given....”
A few hours later, you awaken in a daze, in a field not too far from where you were. How'd you get of the rock? How are you not dead? Questions for later. First, you gaze upon your “stat sheet”
Holy crap. It's now multiple pages with tabs to separate them. A prompt appears. “Enter name.”
You hesitate, but then speak into the prompt. “Mikos,” you say calmly. You hadn't used your own name in ages. In the cult, it was always brother, sister, rank and duty.
The bar atop your page stood out.
Mikos, Cult prophet. (lvl 3)
Faction: Order of Mikos
HP: 70
Neutral faction master
Attack: Ritual Dagger (3-5 dmg)
CHR 15
Special Abilities
Evangelize: Taunts hostile mobs. ( lvl*CHA*.05 )= 2.25 %chance to convert neutral mob to ally. (lvl*CHA*.01)= .45 % chance to convert friendly mobs into cult members. 300 ft radius for all effects.
Quicken the blood: Take 4 damage. You and all cultists within 200 ft gain a bonus to damage and a 5% to inflict bleed for two minutes.
Zealot's fire: Once per week, A cult leader or his subordinate is afflicted with the burning passion of their convictions, receiving 28.5 Eldritch damage per second for 15 seconds. This will activate from cooldown in 6 days, 21 hours, 24 minutes and 45 seconds.
Heretical brand: This prophet has forsake Thernion. All members of the order of Thernion are now hostile.
Heart Ripper (3): Permanently replace this ability with an ability from target creature. Target creature must be dead or helpless, and have a heart still in their body. This ability kills living creatures.
You grumble slightly. Less damage, so your defensive stats must have grown. But, still enough to kill you in less than three seconds. Still, it had reset the countdown. You now had a whole week to plan. You check your factions tab and wince again. Apparently, you are now a chaotic heretic, and an outlaw. Using your evangelize power in civilized cities could aggro the entire city guard, and any number of priests. You also check your inventory. You have an inventory. That's new. You could also merely use minions to sacrifice to your fiery power, but that seems uniquely callous.
You have robes and dagger equipped. But you also have a new, strange item.
Throne Medallion. Consumable, Soulbound.
After clearing a dungeon of hostile enemies, you may use this to conquer the dungeon, claiming it as your own. Warning: Claiming a dungeon will alter spawns throughout. Usable once.
You consider the possibilities. You have the power to start a cult, and maybe even attempt to crawl a dungeon. You could dupe some heroes into aiding you, or maybe find some other unlucky people like yourself. You know for a fact that your home is now full of immediately hostile enemies—so, where could you go to find allies? Or maybe, you should just try to acquire more strength for now.
That went well enough. Now what?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
