Secret Facility.

The police cruiser came insight of an orbiting space station and according to the ship's sensors, it showed no signs of life. There was minimal power output and an automated warning was being transmitted over the communications network. The warning was advising of a containment breach and the station should not be boarded. Helina called Arachne to the bridge and asked her if this had been her final destination. Arachne said she did not know but it was possible it was far away from the recognised space lanes and position over a moon that would provide natural resources.

Sado brought the cruiser alongside one of the cargo bays and shut down the engines. The scan of the station confirmed that life support had been shut down. Helina decided that they needed to investigate and as Sado was the only one on board who did not require an oxygenated atmosphere she would go over and reactivate life support. Sado headed to the airlock grabbing her sidearm as she went leaving Arachne and Helina alone on the bridge. In the airlock, Sado pushed a button that extended the pressurized bridge until it clamped tight over an access hatch on the side of the space station.

Once the tunnel had pressurized Sado stepped in sealing the hatch and headed to the farthest hatch and waited for the biosafety scan to complete. The scan confirmed that there were no dangerous elements in the atmosphere so she proceeded to open the hatch and then entered the dark space station. The corridor was dark save for the emergency lights which gave off very little light as Sado stepped carefully reading her handheld scanner. As expected there was no sign of life as she got further from the tunnel. She found a computer console on one wall and used an emergency power supply to fire it up.

She scrolled through the menu and found the library entry for the life support station and a map. She also found the location of the power room which she would have to reenable first. She headed towards the power room which was two decks below and had she been human would have shown fear. The station was creaking as metal expanded and contracted from subtle heat transfer from the outside sun. Eventually, she came to the powerhouse and entered and found that it was in disarray but she found the emergency shut off-panel and started the initialisation protocol and soon there was power in the station.

The next task was life support and she headed there finding it in better shape than the powerhouse and soon life support was enabled. She told Helina and said she was heading to the control room and would meet her there. Helina and Arachne entered the station and followed the directions from Sado. They arrived and saw Sado huddled over a computer panel looking at logs and records. She could not access the security feeds as all that appeared on the screens was static. Sado looked up and reported that one of the experiments had got loose and had been the cause of the station's demise.

She also reported that the experiment was an airborne pathogen that attacked organic matter. Helina asked if it could have been responsible for the power and life support shutdowns. Sado said no the station had gone into auto hibernation because a daily code had not been entered. Arachne said she would go an explore so Helina tagged on while Sado remained in the control room studying the research logs. Both Helina and Arachne headed to the research deck and came upon many laboratories and decided to start with the three at the end of the corridor.
