Second

“I’ll take the second watch,” Dago said, moving toward the bed.

Natalie nodded and pulled up a chair to sit near the door. Dago got into the bed and fell asleep pretty quickly. Even being in a place that was daytime made him tired, no matter if he could see light or not.

He was suddenly being shaken awake, “Wake up!” Natalie’s voice came as a hiss, “Wake up and stay quiet!”

Dago, the kind of person who didn’t do well immediately after being woken up, was bleary eyed and disoriented, but he managed to get out of the bed without a sound. He blinked a couple of times and shook his head, trying to regain his senses. Natalie was standing near the door with her back pressed against the wall. She pressed her finger to her lips to indicate that he should continue being quiet. She waved him over to the door and he obliged. He could hear people moving just outside of the door.

“Is this where they are?” a nearly silent voice came.

They apparently got the answer they wanted, Dago didn’t hear a response, but the doorknob began to turn.
