Scrub Woman

Gloria saw Brandi, red-faced, and defeated come out of the basement. "Very nice," she said. "Follow me."

Brandi followed Gloria up the stairs and down the hall to a bathroom door. Gloria turned around and faced her. "I promoted Betina, our maid to the spa two weeks ago, so the house has not been cleaned since. Your first job is to clean Lisa and Stacey's bathroom from top to bottom. I want the floors and toilet seat clean enough to eat out of and the toilet bowl clean enough to drink out of. You'll find a bucket and cleanings supplies under the sink. You have one hour." Gloria checked her watch and left.

Brandi opened the door and gasped. The bathroom was a mess. There was hair on the floor and sink and along with make up and baby powder. There looked to be trimmed pubes on the floor. The shower had soap scum on the tile. She walked over to the sink and opened the cabinet underneath. There was a bucket and inside that there was scouring powder, a brush, a large sponge, and a rag. Also under the sink were glass cleaner, and roll of paper towels.

Brandi had never had to clean anything before. She had always lived with friends, who were not big on cleaning and just let things go as long as they had a few clean dishes and glasses and a change of clothes. She was not sure where to begin, so she dumped the things out of the bucket and took it to the bathtub. She filled with with hot water and poured some scouring powder in it. She tossed the dirty bath rug into the hall and dipped the brush into the water and started scrubbing the soap scum off of the bathtub.
