School is school.

Your first class is English which you enjoy. You like the fact that your grades are based on interpretation of the source material and your ability to replay this information in essay form. You much prefer it to Maths where the answers are too cut and dry. You can either solve the problem or have no clue whatsoever. You like the problem-solving nature of school.

The teacher hands you papers back from the test last week and you are pleased to see that you scored an A-. It's not the top score but one of the highest. Whilst your essay may not be the most technically sound you have a way with words that make your writing easy to read and relate to.

After the class, you head quickly to your Accounting room hoping to get a word in with Katherine before too many people get there. You’re in luck but only just, having time to ask Kat if she’s alright before having to sit down next to her when the teacher arrives. She tells you she’s fine before having to take her textbook out and begin on today’s teaching.

A few minutes into the class Katherine passes a folded piece of paper over onto your desk discretely when the teacher is focused on the board. You open it up and read what she has written.

‘I can’t believe I slapped him!’

You quickly jot your reply down before sliding it back over.

‘I know! You're a badarse :-)’

Katherine smiles at your reply before adding one of her own.

‘Did he try talking to you afterwards?’

‘Yeah but I just told him he was full of shit and nothing happened’

‘Thanks xx’

You try and think what to write back before Katherine grabs the paper off you to add some more.

‘You and Becca were really hot last night.’

‘Aww thanks’

This time Katherine slides back over the piece of paper with the words ‘really hot’ double underlined.

You try and gauge whether it would be alright to bring up the look you saw her giving the pair of you while you were making out with Rebecca. In the end, you risk it and add another line to the rapidly filling up piece of paper before passing it back to Kat.

‘I saw you watching us closely.’

‘I couldn’t help it. You were getting me really excited.’

Where Katherine has written excited you see another word was scrubbed out first. You manage to make out that she wrote ‘wet’ first before changing her mind.

‘Oh yeah? How excited?’

When Katherine reads what you have written she looks back at you and gives you the same look as before, including bitting her lower lip as she did at Rebecca’s house. She has time to write one last message to you before the bell to finish your class rings.

As you stand up you look at what she’s put down.

‘Easier to show you…’
