With target in mind I went over the details. From the possibility of being able to play it off incase of failure, won't receive any backlash from him given Ren's personality, and if this fails he can chalk it up to another failure adding another reason to send me home.

Well if there was ever a sign here walked in my first step.

"Hello Jaune."

"Hey."

*Inhale* *Exhale*

"Jaune" I would like to talk to you about your training. I noticed that you have been improving lately, but I don't how capable you're going to be able to carry on at your current growth rate."

I knew this was coming, so why not go along.

"Yeah. I was kinda slacking lately, but I recently I have been putting more focus in my semblance." Almost a complete lie.

"Semblance." He says aloud vexed at your casualness "You've unlocked it?" He says with what I'd normally translate as happiness.

Ren is the best choice because he was the safest choice. While he may never have had made jabs at me choosing to remain passive, he was the closest I could have had to a brother so fail or not I'll most likely remain unharmed. He was also the one to suggest the plan to get him out of Beacon which why I'm testing it on you.

"I'm having trouble finding the specifics about it." I say scratching the back of my head playing the idiot.

"What does it do?"

"I think it enhances people I did it earlier but, I'm not sure how to explain it or what it really is about."

"You been working on it and you don't have much to say about it yet?" He questions stone faced.

I look down hiding my face to look embarrassed while actually hiding a glare. "Yeah"

"Can you show me."

"Yeah"

Strategically Ren was the most level headed in and out of battle not to mention the closest physically everyday making him seem like the biggest threat my own plan. He had the most skill and knowledge on aura control figuring, awareness, not to mention despite knowing him as long as I have he's one of the biggest unknown it'd be best to keep that caged and leashed.

But, first I'll need him to lower his guard, let him think he knows what to expect I can only enhance simple attributes and the one that are on the surface while I hold just his hand. If I want to make a bigger lasting change I need to get closer to the complex features of the brain. I'll need to place my hand on his head but if he's on guard he may notice a change and start fighting back. From my hypnosis research I'll need to have him calm and unassuming then as I get close strike.

So, I'll get him to believe I can only affect the physical and keep it that way. May as well see how this works on others and what I can do.

I placed my hand in his, first enhance his sight.

*Sharp inhale*

He looks around as quiet as alway but with interest in his eyes.

Then his hearing.

*gasp*

He brings his fingers together rubbing them gently hearing the sound of friction between his fingerprints.

His muscles.

*CRACK!*

Aura not prepared to defend as his grip felt a lot tighter that I yelped, shocking a sound sensitive Ren quickly causing more pain as he tightened his grip. I let go leaving him to jerk a bit as if he just drop almost losing balance coming back down.

He stares at me seeming actually speechless.

"Jaune, I have no words."

I did, "Ooow" I say shaking the hand glowing with aura to heal the squished fingers.

*Jaune are you ok I didn't mean to I just wasn't used the stre-*

"It's fine it's just a sting now." I tell him "A very big sting."

"Well this power of yours seems unreal when you experience it. I believe for that short amount of time I had better hearing and sight than a any faunas."

That has not crossed my mind the limit of this and speaking of mind.

He'd be quiet about whether I succeeded or not if I ask him to. "Hey Ren you mind trying that again I wanna get the hang of this before showing it to the others." I say in a attempt to get access. "Without being in the way of any sudden strength movement." I added to try to normalize it.

He nods.

Lie Ren as a brother I won't break you or change what you are, so I'll let you remain the same as the day I met you; a nonchalant boy with little to no feelings to show or respond to what people do around him.
