SOL Day 10 - It's different now

The camp has changed so much in so little time. Now there are cameras and people and it's loud and colorful and chaotic. Your team wakes up, jittery with nerves before the game. Riley is the center of attention, and you are kind... ignored.

You stand there as the others get dressed, for once not paying attention to them all at all as you look at your pink uniform. It's really cool, but surreal after prison. You had a uniform there, too. It wasn't cute.

But it's time to play. You are not at your best... you weren't in prison long enough to go soft or something, but you aren't practiced, you aren't warmed up, but you have played all your life, and you quickly get into it.

You notice several things right away about Green Team.

Shep is good, but some of her teammates are not interested in what she has to say. Taina and Meghan seem to think they know best. They're nervous on defense, so they aren't confident in Kaine. Their midfield is garbage. Meghan, or maybe Taina, is the real captain of the team. Their entire offense is organized around getting the ball to Cam. They're sleeping on Shep, and Monika is almost actively undermining her.

You aren't sure that Riley has picked up on all of that.

Mara pushes up to join the midfield and starts bullying.

You stop Cam twice, but you're starting to sweat. Cam isn't as big as you are, but she's at least as strong as you are. It's a little scary, and she is so skilled. She's a better player than you. You hate that. And you can't hold out against her forever. She's wearing you down, but she doesn't seem to get tired.

Cam finally passes to Monika on approach, and Monika scores a very delicate goal. It's not Viti's fault... it was just that good of a shot.

Now they're on offense again, but Sheva gets the ball and passes to Lara. Lara gets it to Riley, whose shot is blocked. A few minutes later, Lara breaks away and gives it to Aki instead, who scores.

You're tied at the half. It's rough. It is so hot... The game stays deadlocked, but critically, Mara is carded out for basically trying to kill Sam. Sam is traumatized, but now you have a real opportunity, and Green's formation is weakened on your side of the field.

Still, you don't get a chance until there's basically no time left on the clock. Shep is coming at you. She's cocky, but you haven't faced off with her before. You steal the ball easily, and this is it.

You can blast it to your attackers, or you can try your own break. You think you might be able to make it.
