Chapter 4 by TheRandomSN

What's Christina's best bet to get cover?

Run for her jacket.

Knowing that her jacket would hide more of her Christina opened the bathroom door and into the deserted hallway before she started jogging a fast pace towards that hallway. She left her phone in the classroom and didn’t wear a watch so she had no idea how long it would be until the end of class and only prayed she would make it to her jacket in time. She had no idea what she would do if the bell rang before she reached it, but she decided to cross that path if it came.

She turned into a new hallway, less than halfway across the school to her locker. The halls were nearly silent aside from the noise of her bare feet slapping the tile ground and the occasional muffled teacher’s voice behind a closed classroom door. So far no one was in the halls unexpectedly.

She turned the last corner, as vacant as the last ones. Her locker was near the end of the hallway, she could see it from here.

Shit! She thought, one of the classroom doors is open!

She had no choice but to cross it to get to her jacket, there was no alternate route to get to the end of this hallway unless she left the school building, and she didn’t consider than an option for any reason.

Part of her wanted to slow down to stop making noise, but that wouldn’t necessarily stop anyone from looking out the door by chance and seeing her. She picked up her pace, hoping that anything someone might see would be too fast for them to realize it was an undressed classmate- and if they could tell she only prayed she was too fast for them to know who it was streaking down the halls. She steered herself to the side of the hallway opposite the class.

As she neared the classroom her arms clung harder across her body and she tried to hit the floor softer to make less noise but without losing any speed. She felt it worked a bit, still making noise but less than she was a moment ago. She darted past the open doorway, hearing a teacher in mid-sentence about a lecture. A few feet past the doorway she heard no changes in sound, no surprised shouts, and she broke into a full sprint to make it to her locker.

Dashing the last several yards Christina slowed her footsteps and forced herself to a hard stop in front of her locker. She started spinning the combination dial, trying to catch her breath from the hard race she’d been put through.

Dammit, you missed, start over. Calm down, you can’t keep making mistakes.

She re-spun the dial and got two numbers into her combination when suddenly a loud ringing filled the halls. The school bell. She had maybe ten seconds before the first students had gathered their things and stepped into the hallway. Probably a bit less.

She got to the last digit of her combo and opened the lock. Immediately she swung the thin metal door open and yanked her jacket out, spinning it around her body and thrusting her arms into the sleeves. Her hands fumbled with the zipper for a moment before fitting it together. She heard steps entering the hallway right as she got the zipper up to her neck.

Feeling the jacket around her she knew it stopped below her ass and her privates. She was covered. Looking down and seeing the majority of her legs exposed and her unclad feet, she was certain everyone would know that something was off. But they couldn’t see anything more than most students showed routinely. She stuffed her hands in the jacket’s pockets, so she could try to keep the hem from riding up while she walked.

Students were milling around past her, going to their lockers or exiting the fire door to take a shortcut to their next class. She wasn’t looking around, pretending to focus on her locker. She didn’t want to catch anyone looking at her in concern or amusement, and tried to act natural despite feeling far from it.

“Hey, Christina,”a lady sauntered up to her. Christina turned and saw it was her friend Annika. “I never see you in the halls this late in the day. Did you forget something at your locker.”

“Oh, uh, sort of. Hey, look, I need to go deal with someth-“

“Wait, you never wear shorts that show that much leg. And why are you wearing a jacket? It’s not cold in here?”

“Look,” Christina sighed, “I don’t want to talk about it. But I need to go to the admin office. I have to report something.”

“Report what?” Annika said mildly alarmed, “Are you okay?”

“I don’t want to get into it now, I’ll tell you someday soon.”

“Wait… are you not wearing any shorts under th-“

“Shhh! That’s exactly it, now shut up, please. I don’t want anyone else figuring it out, if they haven’t already.”

Annika bit her lip and Christina saw it sinking in. Then she nodded. “Whatever happened, you obviously need to report it. Not another word. I’ll walk with you. I won’t say or ask anything, but let’s go.”

What's next?
