Run!

"Run!" You hiss, putting words to action as fast as your feet can carry you. You've barely taken half a dozen steps before a triumphant howl cuts through the night.

"Uck! Ewww!" Brittany cries out, having barely moved from the time you told her to run. You come up short, looking back at her.

The Infected approaching begin to slow, to encircle the two of you. They don't come at you all at once, or with the aggression that you have seen before. Instead, they reach out, touching, caressing, pulling lightly at your clothes.

At barely a whisper in her ear, "Stay beneath me, I'll keep you safe."
