Maya says, "I detect no evil forces here, so I think you're healed. But it would be good to get a healer-priestess to look at you."

You smile at Maya, feeling relieved that the worst is over. She offers you a cup of water, and you gratefully accept it, taking a long sip. As you rest on the bed, your thoughts begin to race. What happened to you? How did you end up like this? You recall the massive creature that attacked you and Nell. The memories are still fuzzy, but you're sure it wasn't like anything you had ever seen before.

With a renewed determination, you ask Maya, "What was that monster? What if there are others?"

Maya says, "That was no ordinary creature, I'm afraid. Some kind of terrible aberration."

She looks deep into your eyes, and you can tell she's trying to decide how much to tell you. "There was an experiment gone wrong in a nearby laboratory. Somehow, it escaped, and its kind may still be out there. We're working with the guild and the local authorities to search for more of them," she says.

You shudder at the thought of encountering something like that again, yet you feel a burning desire to do something to stop them. You want to be part of the solution. "Please, what can I do to help?" you ask with a newfound determination.

Maya smiles, impressed by your courage. "You have shown great resilience and resourcefulness. We may have a spot for you," she offers, a hint of excitement in her voice. "If you're willing to dedicate yourself to this cause, we could use your help in tracking down these creatures and destroying them."

"It killed my friends. I'm definitely in," you state firmly.
