Romance section

The two reports head out into the ballroom and look around. Jane says. “Lets go to the Romance section.”

Jon rolls his eyes and groans. “Oh come on, do we have to?”

Jane replies, “What do you guys have against romance?”

“It’s boring. You spend four or five pages just working up to a kiss. I get tired if it takes longer than one page before people are doing anal.”

Jane grabs Jon, “Well, maybe you’ll learn something then. Come on.”

Jon reluctantly follows her. They get to the romance section. They see about a dozen very quiet tables. “Boy,” says Jane, “It is slow here.” She looks over at one table with a single man quietly speaking to several beautiful women.

Jane walks up to the man. “We are here to talk romance with Whisper Clark, the main character of ‘Love Under GrAy Skies’. Hello Mr. Clark.” Whisper nods politely and Jane continues, “We all know that romance is the slowest section of Chyoo and Jon seems to have already summed up why it’s so quiet. Now, my question to you is, what makes up good romance?”

Whisper smiles and shrugs his shoulders, “I really don’t know Jane. If I were to guess, I would say subtlety is important. The words you leave out are just as important as the words you say. Sometimes it’s not easy. Trying to express a glance that says a thousand words all with the same meaning is a difficult thing to do.”

“I’ll say,” says Jon, “In half the threads in your story, nothing happens at all. No nudity, no fucking, no nothing. Add to that half the time you don’t even get the girl and I don’t get it.”

Whisper responds, “Sometimes just making an effort is romantic enough. I think that all the ladies at this table will agree that taking your time and wooing them will make for a much more enjoyable love life.” The women at the table all nod their heads in agreement.

Jon points over to a table in the fan fiction section, “All I know is that if I wanted, I could go over there and fuck the Olsen Twins without even having to say please.”

Jane shakes her head. “You just don’t get it do you. A slow seduction against all odds…” She sighs, “It’s a beautiful thing.”

Jon replies, “So is watching a college girl get sexual hazed by her sorority.”

Jan shakes her head and thanks Whisper for his time. He stands up and kisses her hand before she walks off.

“Now that wasn’t so hard. Where to next?”
