Rey De la Isla

The booklet provided from the Island had many interesting options available. Glancing along the list, your eyes fell open a heading titled ‘Rey De la Isla.’

Huh, you thought, it appears that the island is in the Caribbean due to the Spanish. Reading the summary of the fantasy, your heart leaped at the chance of the lifetime. You could be a King! For an entire week. Your word would be law!

Your body quivered with excitement.

Reading even further, you saw that the fantasy could be further customized, for a little more money of course. You could have the island populated with a desired ethnicity of the human species, specify the physical attributes of the islanders, or even, for a large sum of money, choose the inhabitants from stars of the silver screen, television celebrities, or people you met with day to day!

Your mind filled with a large list of possibilities.

Noticing some small print at the bottom of the brochure, you snapped back to reality and read:

‘The Fantasy Island Corporation is not liable for damages due to the return to Real Life. The Fantasy stays on the Island. In Real Life, you cannot treat others the way you wish to and people will not always follow your commands.’

You weren’t worried. In fact, you hoped to return with more confidence, but not too much.

You phoned the Fantasy Island Corporation.

“You’ve chosen ‘Rey De la Isla’ as your fantasy?”

“Yes,” you answered, also giving her your customizations to the package.

“Very good, sir,” the cheery female voice on the other end said. “You will receive tickets for your flight within a week. Enjoy your stay on the Island and thank you for choosing Fantasy Island.”

You hung up the phone. You couldn’t wait to get to the Island.
