Returning Allies

Luna only barely suppressed a shocked squeak as she saw the scene unfolding before her. She had begun her return from scouting immediately upon hearing the unmistakable sound of Monique’s mini-gun, but she hadn’t expected things to go so poorly in her absence. Both Samora and Monique, perhaps the two most combat capable members of their squad had been reduce to moaning heaps on the ground in an instant.

Luna considered her options. She couldn’t kill the Rapi. Even if she were willing to take another creature’s life, she would be outnumbered Six to One, and she barely had any practice with a gun. Just the same, however, she couldn’t just abandon them there! There had to be something she could do to help her comrades, she just needed to think. She had to figure out something.

Luna furrowed her brow, trying to work through every possible variable, everything that might give her some sort of chance to save her teammates. She was deep in thought when something touched her, shocking her out of her pondering.
