Rest, at last
The kiss, that deep, soul-merging communion, could not sustain its celestial intensity forever. Slowly, gently, like a tide receding from the shore, the urgency began to ebb. Suki’s kisses softened from a **** claiming to a series of tender, lingering presses. Jo’s hands, which had been clenched in Suki’s hair, relaxed, her palms coming to rest flat against Suki’s back, feeling the rapid, steady drumbeat of her heart.
Finally, with a shared, shuddering sigh that was more breath than sound, their lips parted. A thin, silvery strand of saliva connected them for a fleeting second before breaking. Suki rested her forehead against Jo’s, their noses brushing, their breath mingling in the tiny space between them. Both were trembling, their bodies humming with the aftershocks of a connection that had felt less like touch and more like fusion.
For a long moment, there was no sound in the room but their ragged, synchronized breathing. The spell that had held the other five girls captive finally broke.
A collective, shuddering exhale rippled through them, as if they had all been holding their breath for the entire duration of Suki’s worship. It was Cathy who made the first sound, a soft, wet sniffle as she wiped a tear from her cheek with the back of her hand.
“Wow,” she breathed, the word barely audible, laden with awe and a touch of envy.
Anita let out a low, appreciative whistle, shaking her head slowly as a slow grin spread across her face. “Well, fuck. That was… I don’t even have words. That was something else entirely.” Her dark eyes were wide, reflecting a new, profound respect for the shy girl who had just orchestrated the most intimate scene any of them had ever witnessed.
Allison simply stared, her athletic body looking uncharacteristically still. She ran a hand over her closely cropped hair, a gesture of pure disbelief. “I’ve never seen anything like that,” she said, her voice a low rumble. “It wasn’t just sex. It was… art. It was religion.” She looked at Jo, who was still lost in the haven of Suki’s forehead against hers, and a look of soft amazement crossed her features. “You okay, Jo?”
Jo, her voice hoarse and dreamy, managed a weak nod. “Mmm. More than okay.”
The twins were clutching each other’s hands, their identical faces flushed and their mischievous green eyes shining with unshed tears. Sam bit her lip, looking overwhelmed. “I feel like we shouldn’t have been allowed to see that,” she whispered to her sister. “That was… private.”
Erica, ever the one to cut through profound emotion with a well-aimed dose of reality, squeezed her sister’s hand and let out a soft, incredulous laugh. “Private? Sam, we’re all sitting in a puddle of each other’s… everything. I think we’re past private.” She looked at the entwined figures of Suki and Jo, a wicked, affectionate gleam in her eye.
Suki slowly, reluctantly, lifted her forehead from Jo’s. She looked dazed, her lips kiss-swollen, her eyes glazed with a love so potent it was almost painful to look at. She gently helped Jo sit up, her arms remaining around her, as if she couldn’t bear to break the physical connection completely.
The movement seemed to signal a general shift. The intense, focused energy that had crackled in the room began to diffuse, softening into a warm, sated, and slightly awkward glow. Girls shifted positions, stretching stiff limbs, grabbing discarded glasses of warm punch.
It was Erica who finally broke the lingering silence with her trademark cheek. She grinned, waggling her eyebrows at Suki and Jo.
“So,” she drawled, her voice playful. “Does this mean you two are sharing a room now? Because I’m not sure the rest of us can handle the sheer amount of… poetry that’s about to be flying around this house.”
The tension shattered. Laughter erupted—light, relieved, and genuinely amused. Cathy giggled into her hand, Anita threw her head back and cackled, and even Allison chuckled, shaking her head at Erica’s audacity.
A deep blush spread across Suki’s cheeks, but she was smiling, a small, private, radiant smile directed only at Jo. Jo, for her part, laughed—a soft, breathy, happy sound—and leaned her head against Suki’s shoulder.
