What data will you receive?
Receive data on Vaarvel's role in the murders
Your secret pass phrase once again allowed you access into the highly sensitive report prepared by Telegram. Last time, the thing had read with a tone of fun and adventure. You expected to see that they'd sobered up this time around, since this was their last investigation assignment as part of the task ****-- and a very dangerous intel collection at that. Instead, the person's words read as though they'd been having the time of their life and were only upset that they couldn't research the Goodbye Girls any further. You thought to yourself: if this whole job was so fun, maybe this Telegram member should be the handler from now on?
Of course, those sarcastic, bemused remarks would only last you so long... Once you got into the report and read into the discoveries, it was clear to you that all time for fun and games had nearly run out. {if Vaarvel's Role> 1999}
Wait a minute... You'd actually heard all of this from your agent already!{endif}
-FOR YOUR EYES ONLY-
I've got the scoop you've been hoping I'd get my hands on this whole time. The heart of the mystery! The truth behind the deaths of the former Ciaos. I'll keep my info to just what you need to know, for the sake of professionalism, but geez, the things I could tell you! I could make your head spin if we ever got a time to sit down and chat about this agent!
So, when you think of the three dead handlers, you probably think of a single killer, right? I can't say about their motivations, but I can tell you this: the manners of **** were so different, if you set the bodies side by side, you'd think you were looking not just at three different **** flick murderers, but three different genres of film. The first: neck snapped. The second: throat slit. The third? Beaten to a bloody, nearly unrecognizable pulp.
Let's focus on that first one. When you think of snapped necks, that could really be any of the Goodbye Girls who did that one, right? Vaarvel's got CQC training, Au Revoir could do it with just her hands, and Tschau is cybernetically enhanced. If you're considering that guy's **** just at face value, anybody could have done it. What's more interesting is to dig in to his history.
This guy showed up shortly after Au Revoir and, to hear it said, he was "Vaarvel's man." That's not just in the sense of him being brought in to her and loyal to her, although it seems he was both; the guy was actually romantic with her. The two of them didn't hide it. The pictures show this guy was young and pretty handsome; Vaarvel was younger then too, though still older than him. They probably looked like a pretty cute couple... unless her personality was the way then that it is now. Then they probably looked like a dom/sub pairing.
Anyway, the last real "event" before the guy's head did an unplanned 180 was when he started proposing that she leave the field. Apparently, he was concerned about her safety and wanted to go away together. Obviously, the two of them never got the chance. Do you think that's why she ended up so... creepy-weird? Because the guy she loved got killed?
Here's what I think: she was always creepy-weird and that guy's **** is proof of it. Remember: Vaarvel basically started the Goodbye Girls and led them throughout their whole life. You can't credit that to Goodbye, with her silliness, nor Despedida, with her laxness. You can't credit to any of the handlers that died either; they were all too short-lived. She's the one constant and the hardest worker. Nobody's given more to CEDIT more consistently than she has. Is that enough of a reason to kill the guy, just because he proposed they elope together? If I could dig just a bit deeper into this guy's history, I'll bet I'd learn something about the two of them... maybe they lived dangerously before they even got into CEDIT.
The two of them were always together... All I'm saying is, either she killed him, or else, somebody else managed to with her around. The former sounds more likely than the latter.
Well, that's enough of my theories and investigations. Hey, if you still wanted to believe Vaarvel was innocent in all of this, I'm sorry I had to break it to you that she was involved. I really wanted to think the best of her too.
This is going to be our last time talking... You barely know me, but I know a heck of a lot about you by this point. Doesn't really seem fair... Maybe once things cool down, I'll come introduce myself in person? Do me a favor and don't die before then, okay?
Signing off!
