Real Doll

A mostly-featureless wooden humanoid puppet with a gem core in its face.

Someone can touch the gem core and name three variables: a person's name, a time, and a safe word. The doll will then transform into a perfect replica of the named person as they were at the stated time, complete with memories and abilities. The replicant has a mind of its own and will not necessarily be obedient to the person that created them. It will not automatically know that it is a doll and will believe that it is the real original person until informed otherwise.

Any equipment that was put onto the doll prior to transformation will be worn by the replicant, but they will be otherwise naked and unarmed.

If the replicant hears the safe word, they will transform back into a puppet. If the replicant dies, they will be permanently locked as a corpse, unable to be resurrected or transformed back into a puppet.

These dolls come in all different sizes, and can only become a humanoid of a matching size.

Tiny: fairies etc.

Small: goblins, halflings, dwarves etc.

Medium: humans, elves, orcs etc.

Large: giants, oni, trolls etc.
