Put it on

Figuring that the only way to learn what the item does is to equip it, you pick up the circlet experimentally. Nothing happens, so you raise it to your head and put it on.

...The moment it's in place, you hear a rather regal female voice speak directly into your head.

Finally.

That spooks you enough to tear the circlet off immediately, putting it back on the pedestal.

The voice speaks to you again a moment later though.

Too late for that, I'm afraid. I'm up here.

You feel your own arm lift against your will and tap you on the temple. The sensation is very unnerving, and you pull your arm back down to glare at it. The voice laughs softly, and you fight against the impulse to shake your head as if to get it out.

After a few moments of silence, you speak out loud before the voice can say anything else.

"What do you want?"

Oh, now we're getting somewhere. It's quite simple actually. I want your body.

You aren't sure what to say to that... She can't think you'd agree to that?

It does seem like it could be interesting to work with an "evil" sorceress. In game terms, it's probably quite the power-up.

Besides you aren't exactly sure what'll happen if you refuse... How exactly do you go about kicking someone out of your head?
