The Girl of Steel vs The Master of Manipulation: Maxwell Lord!

Maxwell Lord looked out over the clear night sky of National City, a small but humourless smile gracing his lips. "How long until the device is ready?" Lord asked, not bothering to even look at the underlying to whom his remarks were addressed. "The transmitter will be ready in an hour to so, sir. We're doing final tests on it now, and they it'll be ready for you." Lord's smiled widened. This was the culmination of years of work and effort. Purchasing the old local broadcast networks for National City had seemed like a mad move by his business competitors, especially given that everything was moving to online and digital. However, those old broadcast radiowave systems now played a crucial role in some cutting edge 21st century technology that would eclipse anything his competitors could hope to achieve through the straitjacket of legitimate business... And the beauty of it was, none of them were any of the wiser, and they wouldn't be able to stop him before it was all too late...

For a while now, Kara Danvers had been investigating Maxwell Lord, and everything she found she didn’t like. What started months ago as a simple critique of Lord’s dirty business dealings for the paper she works at turned into a full on investigation. But now she knows what he’s doing, and his plan to use his abilities on the entire city had to be stopped. There was no time to do anything else, because it looked as though his plans were coming into fruition soon...but first The Girl of Steel was going to give Lord a chance to stop this.

Lord had been looking out the window before he turned and began talking to his employee. It was lucky for him because a few seconds later Supergirl flew through the window and hovered above Maxwell Lord with her eyes glowing red, ready to emit her heat vision, all in an effort to look as threatening as possible. “I’m giving you one chance to make this right, Lord!” Kara told him, staring down at him, “abandon this project and destroy what you have or else I’ll do it for you!”
