As Mrtve walked along, her moist bare skin was assaulted by a cool humid breeze from up ahead of her, making her shiver. After a little further of travelling, she started to hear the cawing of gulls, followed by the quiet lapping of waves. Was she near an ocean? The air lacked the salty smell that she would have expected if so.

As she crested the next hill, she found her answer. The forest in front of her sloped gently down to the shoreline of an enormous freshwater lake, transitioning to a sandy beach as the land approached the water's edge. The lake was so big that it stretched all the way out to the horizon, so she could have been forgiven for assuming she was looking out to sea if it weren't for the smell, the crisp earthy scent blowing in over the water that lacked any trace of saltiness.

Looking both ways along the shoreline, there was nothing but forest for as far as she could see on land. Wherever it was that she'd gotten herself into, it was clear that her way back to civilisation would not be easily found.

The wind blew over her body again, sending another shiver up her spine. It wasn't unpleasantly cold, more of a refreshing chill, a nice break from the warmth of the forest. She could see this beach being a pleasant holiday spot, in better circumstances. Unfortunately, it did little to alleviate the pressing concerns regarding the reality of her current situation.
