Time For Work

Aaron was troubled by what had happened in The Market but not how you would expect. Aaron attributed his willingness to resort to **** to the terrible mood that Garrent had put him in but the **** itself did not disturb him. Aaron may not have the experience that you would expect from someone of his age but he was neither idealistic or naive. Aaron knew that The World was a violent place and that it always had been and always would be. **** was just one of the unpleasant things that resided at the core of Human Beings like Lust and Greed. He accepted these things and moved forward, determined to be better but he also recognized that **** particularly in the defense of others or one's self was at times necessary if regrettable.

What bothered Aaron was the whole situation...

"That Whole Situation Was Wrong...," Aaron thought as he went over the events in The Market in his head., "... Why Was The Market Deserted and Why Didn't The Clerk Activate The Bullet-Proof Shields or The Alarm, and Those Men. Their Behavior and Entire Manner Seemed ****... Like It Was An Act But I Examined Their Weapons and They Were Definitely Real and Definitely Loaded. Lead... No One Uses Solid Lead Projectiles and Hasn't For Decades and The Guns Themselves Were Ancient Yet Pristine. Just What Is Going On and Why Did It All Feel So Familiar, Like I'd Done It Before? I Guess That's One More Thing To Put On The List To Consult Gog About When I Have Time."

A Minute Later Aaron and His Mother Pulled Into The Visitor's Lot At Omen Enterprises...

"Do you want me to pick you up sweetie?," Cyndi asked as she leaned toward her Son.

Aaron gave his Mother a peck on the cheek., "No, That's okay. It'll probably be a late night so I'll take the bus home."

"Oh Honey The Bus. You really need to get yourself a car."

"Yeah. I know. I've just been so busy lately and just enjoying being able to actually get around that I haven't really given it much thought but don't worry Mom I'll be sure to pick one up soon."

"I don't mean to pick at you Baby..."

Before Cyndi could finish, Aaron placed a finger to her lips., "It's okay. You're My Mother and you worry. It's a parent's prerogative and you'd rather I drive myself than depend on public transportation. Its about safety. I understand and I appreciate it... really. I Love You Mom."

Cyndi smiled., "Oh Honey."

"I probably won't see you tonight so please try not to worry. I'll be fine."

"I'll try.," Cyndi pouted.

Aaron could only laugh, seeing the rather comical look on her face. Aaron felt a tug on his arm as he turned to open his door and get out. Looking back he saw his Mother looking out through the front wind shield and he followed her gaze.

Aaron could see a large crowd of people gathering in front of Omen Enterprises.

"Argh Not Again.," Aaron thought in exasperation.

"Is it some sort of protest or demonstration?," Cyndi thought out loud.

"No. Nothing like that Mom. These are the families of some of the people we've helped here at Omen. They just want to Thank the companies employees for their efforts. I guess it's my turn. It happens from time to time so no need to worry."

Cyndi was understandably concerned as any Parent worth their salt should be but with Aaron's reassurance her expression relaxed as did her grip on her Son.

Aaron got out of his Mother's Mercedes and headed toward the crowd which was between him and The Entrance to The Omen Enterprises Building. He walked slowly, giving his Mother time to see that the crowd wasn't going to rush him and cause a disturbance. Aaron gave a small sigh of relief as he heard the distinctive sound of his Mother's Mercedes departing.

"I'm Glad She Won't Have To See This.," Aaron thought as the crowd of Men and Women surrounded him.
