What do you say to Katie?

Accompany Ashleigh to bible class

Chapter 6 by 24ward 24ward

Maybe you can see Alyssa later, but as far as you're concerned you have plans tonight.

After dinner, Ashleigh comes knocking on the front door to escort you to bible class. "It's not safe for you to be out wandering alone," she tells you gravely as the two of you walk down the street, before she breaks into a smile. "These suburban streets are bad news!"

You humor her with a laugh, noting her tight sweater-vest and knee-length skirt. "You look cute tonight. You sure it's safe for you?"

"Well, I'm sure you'll protect me..." she cooed, batting her eyes.

"Yeah, but who's gonna protect you from me?" you persist. "You make a habit of walking alone at night with strangers?"

"Sounds like my father," Ashleigh replied, rolling her eyes. "He's kind of racist, there's no way he'd let his daughter be out like this with a black guy." Then she glances up at you, raising her eyebrows. "And that's why he doesn't know!"

Just then she indicates a building located about 100 yards away, just barely visible through a wooded area shrouded in darkness. "There's the church over there!" The lighted roadway continues in a lengthy loop around parkland. Ashleigh glances down the roadway (the safest but longest course) but seems to hesitate as though considering cutting through the park or the woods.
