Natasha and Christine
Sarah vanished and in her place sat Tasha Rivers, Tom's neighbor. She was a pretty young woman with long brown hair and pale blue eyes. There was a glow about her - Tom could almost feel the joy radiating from her.
"Tom, this is amazing! I feel so alive. And I have all of Tasha's thrill about this," Sarah said, patting her stomach.
He started to ask her some questions when he was surprised by another woman entering the room. He hadn't expected Christine, Sarah's wife, to be here as well! Tom had always thought they made a very attractive couple. Christine had long, sandy blonde hair and was a few inches taller than Natasha. They were one of those couples who just looked like they fit together.
"Hey Tom, has Tasha kept you occupied while I cleaned up?" she teased with a friendly smile.
Sarah laughed. "As usual, I'm gabbing on about the baby, of course. Tom is too nice to complain."
Christine crouched down to put her head against Sarah's belly. "Oh, he's very active today!" she noted.

She got back up and sat on the couch, putting her arms around Sarah. "I've put away all the food everyone's brought over. I broke things up into several meals for you - it's all in the fridge, labelled."
Sarah looked at her and giggled. "You're so organized, Christy.
"Well, one of us has to be," she teased back.
Tom wasn't sure what to say. "Uh, thanks for all you help," he offered.
"It's not a problem," Christine replied. "You know we both want to help. Tasha is working from home now and I'm trying to shift my hours as much as possible. She'll come over to check on you every day, at least for awhile..."
"Okay... but..." Tom started.
Sarah cut him off. "It's fine, Tom. It's good for me to get out of the house some. I'm starting to feel cooped up. And honestly, it's not healthy for you to be alone so much right now - so soon after losing Sarah." She put a subtle emphasis on the last two word, catching Tom's attention.
Christine chimed in. "We were so happy that you and Sarah agreed to be godparents for us. Even though Sarah is gone, we still want you to be the godfather - to be a part of our child's life."
They each put a hand on Sarah's baby bump and gave Tom big smiles.

Tom managed to stumble out "Uhh...of course, I'd like that...I mean, yes, I will."
They both let out a little laugh. "Not trying to put you on the spot. We just want to remind you that you're not alone," Sarah said, getting up off the sofa.
Christine stood up behind her. Putting her arms around Sarah she kissed her on her head. "Jeeze, Tasha, you can be so sappy - but very sweet."

Sarah gave Tom a looked he couldn't quite decipher, but he took it as 'be patient.'
They gave their goodbyes and went home, leaving Tom to ponder what had just happened.
