He briefly tries to punish her but can't

Xander typed up Buffy having a nightmare about a disaster in Sunnydale, but after watching her break down sobbing his anger has disappeared. Sometimes he'd been so impressed with her actions it was hard to remember she was a draftee unlike him, Willow, Cordelia or Oz. And that she'd already died once

But hearing her mutter about the dream had left him wondering what she was thinking "Probably be arrested before I even saw anyone. Least I wouldn't be homeless"

Buffy still thought she was a suspect in Kendra's ****. That had been cleared up so long ago they rarely even talked about that part of her ****. But then how the hell was Buffy supposed to know that. He doubted any place in LA carried the Sunnydale Times

But more than that... Joyce had thrown her out. Her last words to her were about not coming back if she walked out the door.

Xander had accompanied Giles or Willow to talk to Buffy's mom multiple times over the summer. She'd never even suggested she could have any part in Buffy's disappearance, even if Buffy had misunderstood an empty threat

Now he was tempted to punish Joyce.

But he'd also reached his decision on Buffy. He was going up to LA and was going to drag her ass back personally. He just needed a car.
