P.E class and a crush

P.E. class is required this semester, but the class you picked filled up too fast for Miranda to join, so you can’t rely on her presence to comfort you in a place as daunting as the female changing room. You’re not completely alone, however. Nate is tall, probably a foot taller than you, with an extremely toned body and bright green eyes that shine with humor and carelessness. He has such an easygoing air about him that constantly draws you to him, and it doesn’t take long for you to realize that you are crushing on him. Hard. Too often, you catch yourself zoning out imagining him holding you in his safe, warm embrace.

One day, completely catching you off guard and asks you out on a date in a few days to one of the nicest steak restaurants in town. You excitedly tell Miranda, as she’s the only person you can really tell these things to, but she doesn’t seem to share your excitement. In fact, she looks disappointed, almost upset, and is clearly faking being happy for you. She’s been acting stranger and more clingy, so in any case you figure it’ll be nice to hang out with someone else and give both of you a break from each other. You’ve never given her any indication that you’re anything other than a straight girl, so you hope things will eventually go back to how they used to be.
