Vanessa is telling the truth

Lauren's mother stormed into Lauren's room. "Lauren looked up from her computer. Incriminatingly, her mother's credit card was in her hand. Michelle's eyes glared as she saw the card, then Lauren's computer on the checkout screen of a webstore.

"What do you think you're doing with that!" Michelle asked pointedly.

"Oh, I borrowed your card." Lauren said flippantly.

"How dare you!" Michelle growled.

"I just need a few things." Lauren said, rolling her eyes.

"Like 3,000 dollars in designer dresses?! Lauren you're over ten thousand dollars in debt!" Michelle pointed out.

"Relax, I'll pay you back." Lauren said, waving a hand dismissively.

Furious, her mother stomped over and slammed her computer shut.

"HEY!" Lauren yelled as Michelle pulled the credit card from her hand.

"Lauren, you've shown yourself to be incapable of living responsibly." Michelle said, barely containing her anger.

"In fact, you're like a child. And, since you can't control yourself, it looks like I'll have to control you... harshly."
