She uses her charms again
Dawn was ****. This was her one chance to impress Mr Bradshaw and to land a job at the paper, and now the whole day was turning into a water-soaked disaster. Unless...
”Please, sir” she pleaded with her meekest and most feminine voice, ”Just one minute.”
Richard Thompson stopped and faced her. Dawn's white blouse was soaking wet and she was probably showing a whole lot more than she felt comfortable with. Her instincts told her to cover up and to run away, but without thinking, she did the opposite. Dawn arched her back, pushing her large breasts out more. She felt the cold thin fabric cling to her body even closer and she realized that she was likely giving him a good view of her lacy bra underneath. And probably of her stiff nipples through the sheer wet lingerie too. She was mortally embarrassed, but it seemed to work.
Thompson blatantly stared at her tits for a few seconds with an expression of pleasant surprise before looking up.
”On a second thought, I suppose I could spare a minute for the media,” he grinned.
He gestured for his press secretary woman to get out of the way. ”Paula, let her pass. We can talk in the car,” he said.
Paula gave Dawn a funny look and rolled her eyes before she moved aside. ”Thank you, sir” Dawn stammered as she climbed into the backseat next to the mayor.
”I see that you has already taken advantage of the new facility,” Thompson chuckled and helped himself to another glance at Dawn's translucent outfit, ”Though next time, you should probably visit the changing rooms first. I hear that they are excellent here.”
Dawn **** herself to a polite laugh at his joke. The car had the air conditioning running high and she felt her nipples harden even more. The small notepad in her hands didn't offer much cover.
She tried to change the subject. ”So, about the pool,” she said, flipping through her damp notes.
”Yes, wonderful project,” Thompson blurted out, ”I'm so glad to be able to provide this service for the community,” he added, and then he went on with a long tirade where he basically just reiterating the talking points from his speech earlier.
Dawn became frustrated. So far he wasn't giving her anything and she was running out of time.
She interrupted him, using that overly sweet voice again. ”Sorry, sir, but the water park project went way over budget. Will this have an effect on future developments in county,” she tried.
Mayor Thompson just gave her a secretive smile. ”Wouldn't you like to know?” he teased.
”Can I call you Dawn?” he asked. The leather seat creaked as he moved closer and he lowered his voice, ”Listen, Dawn, this is off the record, okay?”
Dawn's heart rate went up. She bit her lower lip and nodded.
”I might have something useful for you, but that depends. I was planning to give this one to your competitors at the Courier as an exclusive in a few weeks, but you might just have changed my mind.”
He moved a little closer and placed a hand on her knee, right below her skirt. Dawn froze, but somehow managed to keep her composure and gave him a **** smile.
”I've been looking for a steady contact in the media to hand important information like this to. Someone reliable, who can provide a mutually beneficial relationship.”
”In an ethical manner of course,” he added while idly caressing her leg.
”Of course,” Dawn murmured and glanced down at his hand.
”But it's so hard to trust reporters these days. And to tell you the truth, I don't care much for the Gazette. Bradshaw has had it out for me for years, and don't get me started on that uppity bitch Dani Harding. But I sense that you and I might be more on the same wavelength, so to speak.”
Dawn recoiled at the remark about her best friend, but she still played along, pleasantly smiling.
”So, on the record now...” the mayor paused for effect and Dawn started taking notes again.
”I can guarantee that future projects aren't in any danger. In fact, there will be many more projects like this in the years to come. This county will be the largest recipient in a new federal development grant for this region during the next term. I have been instrumental in the negotiations, if I may say so myself, and we closed the deal yesterday. And this is a huge one. We're talking at least eight digits. We're talking bridges, parks, even a new football stadium.”
The mayor leaned back with a self-assured grin, ”You can quote me on this.”
Dawn's jaw dropped. This was big. This was actual news.
Dawn's voice trembled a little, ”I see, and what do you want in return for this?” she asked.
”Oh, nothing really. Just an interview with the Gazette. But a proper sit-down this time, a longer piece. And I want you to write it.”
”Deal,” Dawn blurted out. ”Uhm, I mean, I have to check with my editor first.”
”You do that,” Thompson said and held his hand out, ”Until then, let me suggest that we'll do the interview at my place. You'll be happy to know that there's a pool there too. But don't forget to to bring your bikini this time.”
Dawn shook his hand and let out a giggle, for real this time, ”I won't. thank you, mayor Thompson.”
”Please, call me Dick.”
Dawn said goodbye to the mayor and headed straight home. She got her laptop and immediately started writing – without even changing into a dry set of clothes. There was no time for that. She had a deadline to keep.
