Jeremy is drunk (do this last)

You get home from your latest activity only to find Jeremy lolling on your couch (well, it's technically his couch but you've taken it over) with a mostly empty bottle of rum in front of him.

"You're home early," you point out, perhaps unhelpfully.

"Got fired."

"What?" There's a lot of that going around.

"Yeah. They found out I was letting you couch surf."

"Well kick me out."

"I'd never do that to a friend."

"Well bullshit. I'm out of here. Give me your phone."

"Huh?"

"Hand it over."

Jeremy looks puzzled but pulls his phone out of his pocket and gives it to you.

"Your boss is Joe Manley, right?"

"Yeah."

You push the button. "Mr. Manley, sir. It's Jeremy." You give it your best impression of Jeremy's accent. "I wanted to let you know that I've kicked Mike out of my place and I apologize for anything I said that might have caused offense."

"Right. I understand. I'll be at work tomorrow."

You hand the phone back. "I'll grab my stuff and get out of here."

"But--"

"But nothing. You need that job and we're still friends. I appreciate you going to bat for me, being willing to lose your job for your friendship but there's no need. You get to have both."

You pack up your laptop, the one change of clothes you've bought, and your library books and head out.

Except, where the hell are you going to head?
