A Glowing Vial

She hands you a vial of red glowing liquid.

“Drink this, Jack.”

You look at it suspiciously. “What is it?”

Lorelei begins massaging your back.

“It’s a remnant of the house. It will make you powerful, immortal, and so much more useful for me.”

Lorelei nibbles on your ear. “Drink it, Jack.”

You raise it up to your mouth and tip it back. The liquid is thick and oily. It tastes spicy like cinnamon and metallic, like a rusty nail.

Suddenly, you feel pain. You scream.

Alexa grins at you, unworried. Lorelei continues her massage.

You fall to your knees. Every fiber of your being feels like it’s on fire.

Lorelei helps you up. Alexa wraps your arm around your neck. They help you to the basement door. Unceremoniously, they push you into the dark basement. You fall down about a dozen steps and land on the cold cement ground.

The pain only gets worse. You close your eyes and darkness takes you.
