"Don't think I've forgotten what you did, boy king." Seki says, once the two of you are alone.

"Whatever do you mean?" you say, giving the older woman your best sneer.

"The skull, boy. That was ours by right of plunder. You stole it from us."

“Actually, your son, the heir to your little outfit, more or less handed it over to me. Maybe I'm not the one you should be confronting?” you retort.

You notice your dragging Khaliq into this sets Seki's teeth on edge. She very much resembles her leonine namesake in this moment.

“He'll be punished, when the time is appropriate.” she says solmenly.

“I'm not sure that's wise.” you respond. “While I admit I don't know him as well as you do, my impression of Khaliq is he responds far more to... persuasion than to threats.”

You see it in her eyes. Seki is intimately familiar of what you're alluding to, even if she'd prefer not to acknowledge it.

“You dishonourable-” the regent starts.

“You told me your husband wouldn't have asked. He would've taken what he wanted.” you remind her. “I merely did the same. Your son was only too happy to oblige me.”

You see the anger in the sell-sword's gaze tempered by a certain begrudging respect.

“This is not over.” Seki says, before trudging off into the snow.
