A whistle-stop tour of the town

“Well I’m like chill with whatever you wanna do”, Andrea replied.

“Hmmm, seeing as you’re new here but you’ve already seen the mall, I guess we’ll do the highlight reel and show you everything”, decided Kristi.

She took her new companion on a whistle-stop tour of the town, pointing out that with the mall existing much of the high street business had run dry but there were still a few stores about, mainly franchises, plus a bunch of more eclectic independent ones near the pier.

As they casually meandered through the town, and down and around the pier, Kristi regaled Andrea with notes on the history of the area and juicy gossip about past events, for which Andrew did not have to fake interest in, being a bit of a scandalmonger himself.

The two of them got ice cream, and Andrea’s affinity for feeding and petting the seagulls and random critters they encountered endeared ‘her’ to Kristi.

Andrea was having as much fun with Kristi as Andrew used to have with Brian, and Kristi could tell Andrea would be a friend to keep around.

Unfortunately, Andrea’s feet, unused to heels were in a fair bit of pain after several hours of walking and ‘she’ had to stop.

“Oh my god, I am so sorry I wasn’t paying attention! Can you walk just a little further? My apartment’s nearby and you can rest and ice down your feet if you want”, Kristi offered.
